The Viking Age:
Naufahu Tahi may have caught his last three-yarder in the flat for the Vikings. The fullback, who became a restricted free agent when the Vikings gave him the low tender earlier this off-season, has reportedly signed a 1-year, $1.4 million offer sheet with the Cincinnati Bengals, and will now wait to see if the Vikings elect to match. The purple have seven days to decide whether they want to keep Tahi, whom they plucked off the Bengals practice squad a couple years ago and ultimately made a starter (because Thomas Tapeh turned out to suck). Minnesota’s interest in free agent Leonard Weaver would tend to indicate that retaining Tahi is not a priority, but then again, we know how much Brad Childress loves fullbacks.
