JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Cincinnati Bengals utilized big plays in the second quarter and capitalized on the blundering of Jacksonville quarterback Blake Gabbert for their third straight win with a 27-10 route of the Jaguars 27-10 on Sunday at Everbank Field. The Bengals moved to 3-1 after being routed 44-13 in the season-opening game against Baltimore and into a tie for first in the AFC North with the Ravens. Jacksonville (1-3) lost its second one-sided game at home in a row. Cincinnati trailed the Jaguars 7-3 entering the second quarter after Gabbert threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Marcedes Lewis on the third play of the quarter. Two possessions later, the Bengals lined up to punt on fourth-and-1 from their own 34-yard line but snapped the ball to upback Cedric Peerman. He dashed 48 yards down the right side to the Jaguars' 18. Four plays later, Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton flipped a 1-yard touchdown pass to fullback Chris Pressley to give Cincinnati a lead it wouldn...

WDW Episode 83 – Three Wins in a Row for the Bengals

It wasn’t pretty during some points but the Bengals beat the Jaguars on their home field for the second time in two years 27-10 on Sunday. The offense and defense both came out flat to start the game. The sign of a good team is how you’re able to overcome poor starts and this Bengals TEAM has been able to do so far this season. Don’t forget to nominate Who-Dey Weekly for Sports...

A.J. Green Reinforces Elite Status As NFL Wide Receiver While Dominating Jaguars

There's a reason why the Bengals took A.J. Green fourth overall in the 2011 NFL draft, he may soon be competing with Calvin Johnson for the distinguished honor of "best in the game." After Sunday's dominant performance over the Jaguars where Green caught six passes for 117 yards and a touchdown, the Bengals No. 1 receiver is now second in the league with 428 yards...

Gene Smith, Blaine Gabbert have 12 games to prove themselves

I didn't want to acknowledge the possibility that Blaine Gabbert was a bust or Gene Smith could be fired before the season started, but at 1-3, it's time to address that issue. Gene Smith took over as the Jaguars' head personnel man following the 2008 implosion. Since then, the best the Jaguars have done was a near divisional title two seasons ago. Now in...

Bengals 27, Jaguars 10

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Cincinnati Bengals set up two short touchdown runs in the second quarter with big plays on a fake punt and Andy Dalton's pass to A.G. Green, then capitalized on the blundering of Jacksonville quarterback Blaine Gabbert to rout the Jaguars 27-10 on Sunday in front of 63,030 at Everbank Field. The Bengals (3-1) won their third game in a row after being...

Cincinnati Bengals vs. Jacksonville Jaguars: Heroes and Zeroes

It is easy to look at a stat sheet and place blame.  But when the Jacksonville Jaguars are in the mix, that is way too easy.  When it comes to the surprising Cincinnati Bengals though, the stats don't lie. Jacksonville Jaguars: HeroIs it appropriate to assign a hero award to someone who didn't play? In this case, yes. The hero for the Sunday game versus the Bengals is...

Jaguars' offense not showing up at home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars might want to burn those teal jerseys. The Jaguars (1-3) have been non-competitive in both home games this season, including Sunday's 27-10 loss to Cincinnati. They managed 212 yards against the Bengals, not a whole lot better than the 117 they totaled in a 27-7 setback against Houston on Sept. 16. Those lopsided losses -...

Andy Dalton, A.J. Green lead Bengals to third straight victory

After a Week 1 loss to the Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals have won three straight. AFC North Sniper Stephen Stone says Dalton and Green is one of the league's top passing duos.

Gabbert outdone by Dalton in loss to Bengals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Andy Dalton, A.J. Green and a stingy defense spoiled what was supposed to be a celebratory day for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Dalton threw two touchdown passes and ran for a score, and the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Jaguars 27-10 Sunday for their third consecutive win. Dalton and Green burned Jacksonville several times, including once to set up a second...

The NFL's shifting paradigm: Not all about the quarterback

BY SAM HITCHCOCK, NEWJERSEYNEWSROOM.COM (COMMENTARY) The NFL’s referee debacle is finally resolved, so now people can begin to focus on the league and where it is heading. There is no question that offense is king in today’s game. It has been well documented by the Elias Stats Bureau that, this year, NFL offenses are putting up astronomical numbers of points each week. Yet...

Justin Blackmon finally looked like a first round pick in Jacksonville

This week versus the Bengals, wide receiver Justin Blackmon caught six passes for 48 yards. It was easily Blackmon’s best performance of his young career, as he managed to reel in six of his 10 targets. He had just four catches for 31 yards in the season’s first three weeks. With the likes of Kevin Elliott, Cecil Shorts, Laurent Robinson, and Mike Thomas working in opposite of...
