NFL Trade Rumors:
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Cincinnati Bengals are making an “aggressive” push to sign DT Geno Atkins to a long-term extension.
This coincides with a recent report from CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, which mentioned that there is “ongoing dialogue,” between the two parties.
Atkins, 25, has quickly become of the best interior lineman in the entire game. Last year, Pro Football Focus rated him as the No. 1 defensive tackle in the league with rating almost three time higher than the closest player. Atkins and his agent could be targeting a similar deal to that of Ravens NT Haloti Ngata who received a five-year, $61 million contract with $37.1 million guaranteed.
