Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson's grievance against the NFL was rejected and he will sit out Sunday's road game against the Seattle Seahawks. Benson, who has rushed for 458 rushing yards this season, was originally suspended for three games. That total had been reduced to one. Benson reportedly met with the National Labor Relations Board after filing an unfair labor practice charge against the NFL Players Association, claiming he was not properly represented by the union in contesting the suspension. In the offseason while NFL players were locked out, Benson - a free agent at the time - was arrested on an assault charge in Texas in July and pleaded guilty to an assault charge from May 2010. The guilty plea brought a 20-day jail sentence that was cut to five for good behavior, but the NFL saw Benson as a repeat offender and suspended him three games under the personal conduct policy.
