As we all know, Tennessee Titans safety Bernard Pollard is a man that doesn't mince his words. He'll speak is mind, and when he does, he's usually pissing somebody off. This time around, it's not what he said, it's what he wrote, on his locker to be exact. He has a hand-written message taped to the front of his locker that eloquently reads: “Goal — Super Bowl. Mission — Kill!!!," Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reported Wednesday. Pollard later put the sentiment into speech: “Our goal is the Super Bowl, and our mission is to kill,” the veteran safety said while pointing to the note. “And if someone doesn’t like it, then who cares? I really couldn’t care less. It is not our responsibility to make anyone else happy, to please you, to care about you." So, with that, came the outrage in our P.C. post-Bountygate world.

Bernard Pollard Says Titans’ “Mission Is To Kill”

Bernard Pollard is trying to change the culture of defense in Tennessee, and if he’s not careful, he could subject himself to a meeting with the Commissioner. Pollard who has been a hard-hitting safety his whole career, has a piece of paper taped to his Titans locker.  Its message is simple. “Goal — Super Bowl. Mission — Kill!!!” Pollard went on to further explain his...

Bernard Pollard wants to kill as part of Greg Williams’ defense

Bernard Pollard has earned a reputation as a hard hitter, a Patriot killer, and a borderline dirty safety. This year, he has defined his plan as to "kill" opposing players... his defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has a reputation of encouraging such behavior and is walking a thin line with the league. The comments are innocuous but the league can't be happy...

Titans install simplified offense, expect improvement

NASHVILLE, Tenn. During the offseason, Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak gathered his coaches around for a simple mission: make in-game communication between player and coach -- as well as between player and player -- as simple as possible. While installing a new offense, first-year offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains feels getting in and out of the offensive huddle as...

Titans expect Pro Bowl play from S Michael Griffin

The Tennessee Titans gave Michael Griffin a big contract extension a year ago. Now they hope they've given him enough help so that he plays like a Pro Bowl safety once again. The Titans shuffled Griffin back and forth between the safety positions last season, and he tied for the team lead with four interceptions. But the defense was one of the worst in the NFL, and Griffin struggled...

Titans coach wraps minicamp, offseason day early

Coach Mike Munchak knows from personal experience how tough practicing three straight days can be, so he decided to give his Tennessee Titans a break. He decided at the beginning of the workouts that he would hold a two-day minicamp, which ended their offseason program Wednesday. Munchak broke the news to his Titans on Tuesday as they started their mandatory minicamp. The rookies...

Titans Sign Veteran OT Barry Richardson

Jim Wyatt reports that the Titans have signed veteran OT Barry Richardson to a contract. Richardson spent his first four seasons in the league with the Chiefs before departing for the Rams last season. He hasn’t missed a game in three years, so he’s at least a durable lineman. In 2012, he manned the right tackle position for the Rams and graded out as slightly above average...

Tension And Titles: How Game 7 Reminded Us Why Sports Matter

On January 30, 2000, the Tennessee Titans looked 10 yards ahead of them, envisioning Tiffany silver in the end zone sea of St. Louis Ram yellow and blue. What happened next is the stuff of tragic, lucky and euphoric legend. A play was executed to perfection as the Titans’ Frank Wycheck made his route to [...]The post Tension And Titles: How Game 7 Reminded Us Why Sports Matter...
