(Eds: APNewsNow. Will be updated. With AP Photos.) By DAVE SKRETTA AP Sports Writer One of the intriguing plots in Sunday's game between the Chiefs and Bills involves Kansas City safety Eric Berry, who tore his left ACL when Buffalo's Steve Johnson blocked him at the knees in the 2011 season opener. Berry tweeted in the offseason that he wondered whether it was done on purpose, and then said in April, ''You can look at the tape and make your own opinion about that.'' Johnson has always denied he was trying to hurt Berry, and the block was within the rules. The Bills wide receiver was quick to mention that this week. On Sunday, Berry and the Chiefs visit Johnson and the Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium.

New Buffalo Bills defense, same bad Bills from last year

The Buffalo Bills defense last season was atrocious and with the new additions of the huge signing of Mario Williams, Mark Anderson this last offseason and Dave Wannstedt as the new defensive coordinator taking the Bills defense from a 3-4 to a 4-3 were moves going to make the Bills better this season. Everyone blamed the 3-4 defense, as the reason for the poor play of the Bills...

Chiefs get Brandon Flowers back at practice

When Brandon Flowers went down at training camp with what looked at the time to be a serious injury, Chiefs fans every where held their breath, hoping against hope that he’d simply miss a few practices, perhaps a pre-season game, and then come back ready to play in week one. Then after the first game for Kansas City came and went last Sunday against Atlanta, with no Flowers on...

Apologetic Hali addresses suspension

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A reflective and remorseful Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali spoke to the media for the first time Wednesday since he was suspended for one game for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. Hali began to answer the opening question from a reporter about the Chiefs' loss to Atlanta, then stopped in mid-sentence to make a statement. "I want to apologize...

Bills DT Dareus excused after brother killed

Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus has been excused to be with his family after his younger brother was one of three people shot and killed in a suburb of Birmingham, Ala., last weekend. Coach Chan Gailey expressed his condolences to Dareus and his family. Gailey added on Wednesday that Dareus plans to return in time to play in Buffalo's home-opener against the Kansas...

William ‘Dee’ Hardison: The Quiet Rage

When you meet ‘Dee’, you see a very large and imposing individual who, even at his size is quiet and unassuming.  He speaks in a very even tone that is sometimes barely audible.  Seeing and hearing him is a contradiction to the raging individual who terrorized opposing backfields during his college and NFL tenure. When he was a high school player he was a very good running...

Mario Williams dealing with a wrist injury

According to the Buffalo News, Bills head coach Chan Gailey mentioned that defensive end Mario Williams has been dealing with a wrist injury.  He declined to get into the details.  Williams was then asked about his wrist. “I had a little bit of a freak deal a couple of weeks ago,” Williams said. “Unfortunately, it was right before the regular season. Like I said, by any means...

Buffalo Bills rally around Marcell Dareus amid brother's death

While the Buffalo Bills loss to the New York Jets was as painful as  any loss in the NFL, Marcell Dareus has experienced a different, much more painful loss this week. Simeon Gilmore, the younger brother of Dareus, was shot and killed during a triple homicide in Alabama. Dareus traveled back home to be with family as they mourn Gimore's sudden, tragic death. The Bills...

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Buffalo Bills: Three Bold Predictions

Week 2 gives NFL fans a very interesting matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Kansa City Chiefs. These were two teams who were picked by many experts, myself included as playoff sleepers in the preseason and who were both on the wrong side of blowouts in Week 1.The Bills’ “new look” defense was completely humiliated by a New York Jets' offense that failed to score a touchdown...

Kansas City Chiefs: Scott Pioli Desperately Needs Win vs. Buffalo

Pressure is building for Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli. For the second year in a row the Chiefs get spanked in there home opener against the Atlanta Falcons.Sure the defense had injuries and suspensions. Stadium talks with Bills, state stall

Lease negotiations between the Buffalo Bills and state and county officials have stalled, opening the possibility that a one-year interim deal will have to be reached for the team to keep playing at Ralph Wilson Stadium next season. Bills CEO Russ Brandon said Wednesday that there's been no progress in talks for two months, forcing the team to readjust its plans on whether a...

Week 2 Staff Predictions: Bills vs Chiefs

Frank: 31-23, Bills- If either of them has a set, both Ryan Fitzpatrick and Mario Williams will bounce back this weak in an attempt to silence the critics. You may look at this and see that the Bills have improved to 1-1, but that's simply not the case. The Bills become the first team in league history to score more points and still not win the game because they have...

Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills Week 2 NFL Preview

Fred Jackson (knee) is out for at least a month after taking a gruesome hit by the Jets and wide receiver David Nelson is now out for the season after tearing his ACL. The Bills are off to about as brutal of a start as it gets in the National Football League, but luckily they are at home playing in a winnable game. The offense was horrific as Ryan Fitzpatrick could not complete a...
