The Big Ten has long been an NFL proving ground where stars are bred for the next level. As of 2011, there were 234 former Big Ten players suiting up for NFL teams – which is second only to the SEC (288). Ohio State and Iowa both feature 31 alumni, while Michigan added 26, and Nebraska and Penn State brought in another 25. Of all the conferences in college football, only the SEC and the Big Ten have five schools with at least 25 former players in the NFL. Quantity is great, but what about quality? Who are the very best of the best? The NFL players every Big Ten coach now uses as a recruiting tool to show perspective students what they could become by choosing their University. The pool of candidates is dense, but players need a lofty resume to make this list. Tom Brady, Michigan Wolverines, QB A no-brainer right? The list could pretty much start and end right here, because there are few in the history of the game with a better resume than the man married to supermodel Gisele Buch...
