Denver Post:
INDIANAPOLIS _ This stat blew me away.
No, it wasn’t Tom Brady’s career passer rating in his four Super Bowl. No, it wasn’t Eli Manning’s comeback numbers.
The Super Bowl opening coin toss? The NFL has won it 14 years in a year. I can’t make heads or tails out of the that. (No wait! I gotta million of them!!)
Not surprisingly, for this Super Bowl XLVI, 75 percent of the bets are coming in on the Giants to win the toss.
By the way, for those who bet heads or tails, here’s the stats through the first 45 Super Bowls: 23 heads, 22 tails.
What are the odds? Supposedly 50-50 every year. The odds of winning 14 coin tosses in a row: 16,383 to 1, according to Vegas.

Patriots backup QB Brian Hoyer: “I don’t know if I’ll ever meet someone as tough as (Brady) is”
There was a scary moment in last night’s Super Bowl XLVI, when QB Tom Brady was crushed by Giants DL Justin Tuck. He got up shaky, and doctors surrounded him.
Quickly, backup Brian Hoyer began to throw. Brady ended up going back in, but he finished 7 for his last 17, and he wasn’t the same.
After the game, I asked Hoyer what those moments were like.
“I just gotta...

Patriots lead Giants 10-9 after 1st half of SB
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Tom Brady overcame a rare early Super Bowl safety with a perfect 10-for-10 drive late in the second quarter, and his 4-yard touchdown pass to Danny Woodhead gave the New England Patriots a 10-9 lead over the New York Giants at halftime of the NFL championship game ...
New York 21, New England 17: Giants' late heroics top Patriots in Super Bowl
No one does fourth quarters better than Eli Manning. And no one has the Patriots' number quite like the Giants. Manning led an 88-yard touchdown drive in the final minutes of another thrilling Super Bowl as the Giants beat the Patriots, 21-17, at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Blast from the past: Former Patriot QB Michael Bishop reflects on Brady, his time in Foxboro
Yesterday we featured a story on the draft of Tom Brady and his evolution of sorts into the player he’s become. One player who had a front row seat was former Patriot backup quarterback Michael Bishop.
Bishop, at the time in 2000, had his fair share of hype and was one of four quarterbacks on the roster along with Brady, John Friesz and Drew Bledsoe. During Brady’s rookie season...
Instant analysis: Giants hold on to beat Patriots, Ravens ask 'What if?'
Matt Vensel, Sports Blitz : A fun game down to the whistle, this one was eerily reminiscent of the last times these teams met in the Super Bowl. Eli Manning -- who said before the season the he was elite and lived up to it -- was so cool down the stretch and the Giants put enough heat on Tom Brady to seal the win. Can you believe Eli has more titles than Peyton and one fewer than...

In keeping with the integrity of the campaign to make Super Bowl Monday a national holiday, this will be quick.
It was a brilliant game. The Giants made one more play than the Patriots did. Congratulations to everyone involved. The physical mistakes we can live with.
