Best Wishes Rex

When the Bears took Rex back in 2003, there was a thought of finally having a franchise quaterback. Three years later, they are in Super XLI. Did he play great against the Colts? No. Did he lose that game by himself? No. And yes, He was horrible early on in the following season. He even deserved to be benched but, at the end of the day, Rex should been in Chicago with the fans behind him. If anyone should understand that, it should be Bears fans. Up the road, in Green Bay, Packers fans as well as seemingly everyone else that follows the NFL made Brett Farve out to be a hero beyond mythical proportions! Now, I'm not saying that Rex should be considered a hall of famer like Farve but, he's not the plague. They both have rocket arms and they both throw way too many interceptions. One major difference, Farve made plays with the game on the line... with the fans behind him. Along with his confidence, the fans believed in him and his teammates believed in him.

Even if you believe the Bears made it to the Super Bowl inspite of Rex not even his biggest critics can deny he had a great start... an MVP start to the '06-'07 season. Unfornately even if management still believed in him, you could bring him back to get booed off the field every play. Maybe I should remind you '06 he had an offensive line that gave hime time, a more than productive Thomas Jones, an explosive down field threat in Bernard Berrian, a defense thats stopped everyone and Devin Hester was Superman!

It would've been nice to see what Rex could do with a future all pro in Matt Forte, Greg Olsen and hopefully, after this offseason, a playmaking WR. Good Luck and much success, Rex... where ever it is that you end up.

Kyle Ortorn is ok but the Bears won't be going to any Super Bowls with him starting
