Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin says injured quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and center Maurkice Pouncey have a ''shot'' to play in the regular-season finale against Cleveland. Both players sat out last Saturday's 27-0 victory over St. Louis with high ankle sprains. Veteran Charlie Batch passed for 208 yards in place of Roethlisberger, while a series of injuries forced Trai Essex to take snaps at center for the first time. Tomlin praised the play of the backups but wouldn't rule out Roethlisberger or Pouncey against the struggling Browns (4-11). Pittsburgh (11-4) can win the AFC North with a win and a loss by Baltimore. The Steelers can win the North and be the top seed in the AFC if they beat the Browns combined with losses by the Ravens and Patriots.

Big Ben Has High-Ankle Sprain

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 high-ankle sprain, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Fantasy Spin: Roethlisberger is among the toughest warriors in the NFL and has the least severe level of high-ankle sprain, so we will give him good odds of being able to lead the Steelers into battle for Week 15 at San Francisco.

Roethlisberger Listed As ‘Questionable,’ But Will He Still Play?

Dude, this one might have hurt just a little too much.... “If we lose guys due to suspension or injury, the standard is still the standard. We won’t blink in that regard. We’ve been very consistent in that area.” Those words from Mike Tomlin have been stated time and time again when the Steelers have faced injuries as an adversary since his tenure as head coach.  Classy...

When Ben Roethlisberger is scrambling around and in trouble on the field he relies heavily on the sure hands of tight end Heath Miller.  Miller has now past a pretty significant milestone, he now sits tied for 5th place on the Steelers all time receptions list.  He has tied the other tight end high on the list, Elbie Nickel.  Heath’s next reception will place him as the most...

Starkey: Big Ben’s Magnificent Seven

I'm not sure many have thrived amid the sort of year-in, year-out punishment Ben Roethlisberger endures, largely on account of his swashbuckler style. He has now been sacked 309 times (career, not this season). Yet, he refuses to alter his approach.
