A few tidbits on the NY Giants:

-The Ny Giants are wrapping up their rookie mini camp today and so far, Hakeem Nicks has been the standout. He has made several outstanding catches including a couple where he had to bail out his QB on underthrown balls. Nicks has shown an amazing ability to run crisp, precise  routes and despite not having track star speed, has little trouble finding open space. He also has showcased his much advertised great hands---this guy does not drop passes! I can't wait to see him in real NFL action...

-Ramses Barden has also impressed. He got open on a deep pattern and caught a TD pass from Rhett Bomar. If he can pickup the playbook quickly and adjust to the press coverage he will deal with in the NFL, he could be a dangerous weapon----you can't teach size and at 6'6" he has that!

-Brandon Jacobs had some interesting comments yesterday during an interview with Brandon Tierney;

“We are going to have a new identity, a new scheme,” Jacobs said. “Hopefully a piece of that puzzle doesn’t come missing in the middle of the season and we’ve got to make another adjustment. It’s just a fresh year. And I think that we’re going to have a great season and going on to win at least 13 games.

“I’m putting us in that big dance early and whoever’s listening to it, I really don’t care if they don’t like it or not.” I like it! Seriously, I don't mind a bit of bravado. I don't like it when players go over the top with mouth running, but a little confidence is a good thing---and Brandon backs it up! He also went on to say that he is glad the Giants did not go after Braylon Edwards---he likes the team chemistry they currently have...

Check back through out the day for more NY Giants news...
