Coming into Sunday’s game, we are going to look at Bill Belichick and Andy Reid and how similar these two men are. You’d be surprised how many things they have in common.
Andy Reid has been In Philadelphia since 1999 and the Eagles have always been explosive. His backup QBs become hot commodities and his lead signal caller is a perennial pro-bowler. He’s done it with 2nd tier WRs, TEs and RBs. Reid has done it all when it comes to offense. He loves the pass and annually is a 70-30 split favoring passing.
Bill Belichick built the most prolific passing attack ever in 2007 and the Patriots have been a top 10 offense for over ten years. He is the architect of the spread offense in the NFL and constantly evolves his offense. The saying “they do what they do” doesn’t apply to him. He does whatever needs to be done. When Tom Brady went down, he developed Matt Cassel, a 7th round draft pick in the second year of the spread offense and was able to flip him to Kansas City for a 2nd...

Patriots coach Bill Belichick talked about Thanksgiving, Tarpinian’s injury, and other stuff!
Sure, sure, it’s Thanksgiving. But the Patriots are working, which means so are we. And so is Bill Belichick.
He stopped by the media room to chat a few minutes ago, and — even though he’s here on a holiday — he was in good spirits.
“Happy Thanksgiving to everyone,” Belichick said. “Family, friends, food and football. Can’t beat this holiday.”
Belichick also talked...
Asomugha Questionable for Sunday vs. Patriots
The good news is that Nnamdi Asomugha is able to put weight on his injured left knee, and feels optimistic that he should be able to play on Sunday vs. the New England Patriots.
The bad news? His head coach, Andy Reid, is not so sure.
Reid said today that Asomugha is making progress on his hyper extended left knee that he injured in practice on Thursday, but he is still listed as...
Video of the day: Patriots coach Bill Belichick hits on a few pre-game topics
There are still several hours before kickoff here in Philadelphia, but we’ve already accomplished so much. Hit up Pat’s for cheesesteaks yesterday and sampled Reading Terminal Market like a good tourist. But before we get all geeked up for the Patriots-Eagles game today, let’s allow coach Bill Belichick to hit on a few random pre-game items — like the possible emergence of...
Patriots coach Bill Belichick provides an update on reserve QB Ryan Mallett: “He’s made some impressive throws in practice”
Even with the Eagles looming on Sunday, Patriots coach Bill Belichick ranged from the usual topics today to discuss something else. For the first time in a while, he provided an update on the progress of third-round QB Ryan Mallett, the third-stringer who has mostly been inactive for games.
Yes, this is the same Mallett we wrote a ton about in the offseason. So, how is he doing?...
Video of the day: Patriots coach Bill Belichick details the Eagles playmakers
The Eagles may have a bad record, but they do have talent. That’s one thing coach Bill Belichick has made sure his team is aware of this week. During a short window for preparation, the players did earn a healthy respect for speedsters like WR DeSean Jackson, RB LeSean McCoy, and of course CB Asante Samuel. Allow Belichick to discuss it in my video:
Bill Belichick Notes Ryan Mallett's Improvements, Impressive Throws at Practice During Rookie Season
FOXBORO, Mass. -- Patriots rookie quarterback Ryan Mallett has noticeably taken part of the team's pregame warm-ups this season despite being inactive in nine of 10 games. It's been unique compared to recent seasons when the Patriots only carried two quarterbacks on the active roster, but it might be a sign of how the Patriots view Mallett. After all -- and this probably...

Rookie QB Ryan Mallett Making Progress WIth Patriots
Rookie quarterback Ryan Mallett has been inactive for each of the Patriots' 10 games, but coach Bill Belichick reported yesterday that the third-round pick from Arkansas is making progress. He is "absolutely" still doing extra work after practice, Belichick said. During training camp, Mallett often spent time working on his footwork, either tethered to bungee cords...
Bill Belichick Press Conference Transcript
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick addresses the media during his press conference on Thursday, November 24, 2011.
Hello from Lincoln Financial Field before Patriots-Eagles…
After a stellar pre-game meal at Silk City Diner, we’ve landed at Lincoln Financial Field. In a few hours, the Patriots and Eagles will be playing, but we still have more than two hours before kickoff.
Coach Bill Belichick was out on the field early, walking around in his suit and checking the turf. Players were warned to wear long spikes this week, so maybe the field is an issue...
The Patriots will reportedly face Eagles QB Vince Young on Sunday… and links!
Earlier in the week, Patriots coach Bill Belichick said he would prepare for all three quarterbacks on the Eagles. At least, that’s how it would be in the beginning of the week.
“Maybe later in the week we’ll be able to zero in more on one than another,” Belichick said, hopefully. “We need to be ready for all of them anyway, especially the two that played the most here...
Vote: Who Has Been Patriots' Biggest Surprise on Defense?
It hasn't been all gloom and doom for the Patriots on defense this season. Sure, the stats aren't exactly sparkling, but the only thing that matters really is the record. New England enters this week with a 7-3 record, so clearly, they've had some success, and it's in large part to a few surprise performances on defense. Bill Belichick brought in Andre Carter as part...
