In his Friday 10 Spot, ESPN’s Adam Schefter did a great job of breaking down how if it wasn’t for Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick, linebacker Ray Lewis wouldn’t have been drafted  by the Ravens. Belichick was the Browns’ head coach in 1995, when Cleveland traded a No. 1 pick to San Francisco in exchange for several picks. The 49ers used the 10th overall pick, which they got from Cleveland, on UCLA wide receiver J.J. Stokes. But Belichick never got to use the second No. 1 pick he got back from San Francisco. Before he could, Cleveland fired him and moved the franchise to Baltimore, which inherited the 1996 first-round pick that Belichick had acquired from San Francisco. Baltimore used its own first-round pick in 1996 on UCLA offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden. Then it used its second first-round pick, the one Belichick acquired from the 49ers, on Miami linebacker Ray Lewis. Baltimore believed, accurately and wisely, that in one draft it had acquired building blocks for its defense and offense. If the Ravens didn’t have Lewis, they probably wouldn’t have won their only Super Bowl, back in 2000.     Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })(); sr_adspace_id = 1000005525107; sr_adspace_width = 300; sr_adspace_height = 250; sr_ad_new_window = true; sr_adspace_type = "graphic";

Baltimore police department rallies behind Ravens (Video)

The Baltimore police department put together a video to show support for the Ravens as they head to New England to face the Patriots in Sunday's AFC Championship playoff game. In addition to the cops having some important messages for the Patriots, we watch them imitate the Ray Lewis pregame dance. The video features special messages to the police department from Ravens stars...

Boston area signs are counting down until Ray Lewis retires

We have all been planning for Ray Lewis to play in his last game for the last few weeks, maybe we should stop? People in the Boston are pretty confident that the New England Patriots will be able to do what the Broncos and Colts failed to do in previous weeks, and end the career of the Baltimore Ravens legendary linebacker. They are so confident that they are counting down the days...

Boston Billboard Counting Down the Days to Ray Lewis’ Retirement Party (Photo)

I have to admit this is pretty funny. I don’t think the game will be a blow out, the Ravens and Patriots always play close games. If the Ravens win this will be a lot of wasted money.

No coaching carousels for Patriots, Ravens

Bill Belichick has this nice habit. He coaches in Super Bowls. John Harbaugh has established an impressive trend, too: winning playoff games. When they face off Sunday for the second straight year in the AFC championship, Belichick's Patriots and Harbaugh's Ravens will offer further proof of the value of stability. No coaching carousels in New England and Baltimore. Belichick...

NFL Morning Lines

Will this be the last NFL game for Ray Lewis, or with Bill Belichick and Tom Brady get to another Super Bowl. The guys in Vegas have New England at more than a touchdown favorite, but the line has been moving in Baltimore’s direction. The other hot pick seems to be San Francisco, as they are now a 3.5 to 4 point favorite on the road against Atlanta, as everyone seems to be jumping...

Baltimore Ravens Travel to New England for Championship Rematch

Ray Lewis’ powerful locker room speech from last year’s heart-tearing loss in the AFC Championship at the hands of the New England Patriots included the prospects of holding heads high, getting back to work, and returning to the very same position this season.Despite the incredible odds against accomplishing such a feat, the Ravens defeated the top seeded Broncos, 38-35, in Denver...

Who do we like this weekend in the playoffs

Ok, so the Bengals are out. However, NFL football is still going on and like us, most of you will be watching. Who do you root for? Personally I am torn. Part of me wants to root for the Ravens. My reasoning is that they are a division opponent and whats good for the division is good for the Bengals. The Bengals will get to play them twice next season and it would be nice to beat...

NFL Conference Championship Picks

Playoffs: 5-3  REGULAR SEASON: 168-86-1 (66%) Def. I can't believe I'm making this selection, but I just have a feeling the Ravens are on that kind of roll the Giants had last year. The return of many players including Ray Lewis has really rejuvenated this team. I don't have a big write-up on this one because logic does indeed point to the Patriots...

Patriots Fan Gets the Worst Tattoo Ever

I'm not one for adorning my body with tattoos for the sports teams I love but hey, that's what works for some people. However, one New England Patriots fan might want to reconsider his decision to feature this tattoo of Pat the Patriot on his body canvas. There's bad tattoos and then there are BAD tattoos, this one is HORRENDOUS. First off, it looks like Pat...

Patriots-Ravens Live: Tom Brady Looks to End Ray Lewis’ Career Tour in AFC Championship Game

8 a.m. ET: The day of reckoning is upon us, at least for those of us who intently follow the NFL. The NFL’s conference judgment day will begin with the San Francisco 49ers’ visit to Atlanta for the NFC crown, but all eyes will be peeled for the Ravens’ trip to Foxboro to mark a repeat of last season’s AFC title game. Tom Brady has been preparing for his chance at a sixth...
