Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) - Bill Parcells, who won two Super Bowls as head coach of the New York Giants, and all three wide receivers up for consideration failed to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday. Curtis Martin, Dermontti Dawson, Chris Doleman, Cortez Kennedy, Willie Roaf and senior nominee Jack Butler were all elected by the selection committee. Wide receivers Tim Brown, Cris Carter and Andre Reed were among those who did not make the cut. Brown, a finalist for the third time in as many years of eligibility, warned Raiders fans on Twitter not to watch the live announcement on NFL Network. "Raider nation!! Don't bother to watch tonight they passed on me again!!" wrote Brown, who set Raiders franchise records for receptions, receiving yards and punt return yards. "In fact, no wrs made it again. Gotta get some of y'all in there!!" Indeed, Brown didn't make the first cut from 15 players down to 10. Running back Jerome Bettis,...

Parcells Hall snub just ridiculous

I once heard the Pro Football Hall of Fame described as an assemblage of the people you could not write the history of the NFL without. So, I am at somewhat of a loss on how to proceed with my gawking disbelief regarding legendary coach Bill Parcells' exclusion. How do you argue with somebody who thinks you can write the history of the league without one of the greatest motivators...

Curtis Martin wants Bill Parcells to present him for induction

Bill Parcells fell short of election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, but it looks like he still might find his way to the induction ceremonies in Canton this summer. Curtis Martin was elected and the running back, who played for Parcells in New England and with the Jets, hinted that he…

Tuna's skates laced up

Bill Parcells should get into Canton on roller skates Saturday. That’s always been one of Parcells’ pet expressions when he’s asked about players who are certain Pro Football Hall of Famers.

Tuna should be immortal

INDIANAPOLIS — It’s Tuna Time. It’s the night Bill Parcells deserves his rightful place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His record speaks for itself: Two Super Bowl championships with the Giants, and the resurrections of two woebegone franchises — taking the Patriots to a Super Bowl and the...

By Mike McDermottCurtis Martin, whose career began with three consecutive 1,000-plus yard seasons in New England, has been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Charles Haley, Bill Parcells and 15 others finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame face a long wait on Saturday, as the Hall's 44-person Board of Selectors debates their merits for induction.

Not This Year

Both Charles Haley and Bill Parcells survived Saturday's cut down from 15 to 10 finalists for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but neither was voted into the Class of 2012.

Tale of Two Coaches: Coughlin and Belichick

On Saturday night, the Hall of Fame selection committee snubbed Bill Parcells.  Parcells, a two-time Super Bowl championship coach, was denied entry into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  Perhaps voters have a short-term memory. His last stint with the Cowboys went south.  And perhaps this could be a reason why  Parcells was kept out.  Whatever the reason, Parcells should have...

Saturday was a tough day for those who just missed out on election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Things don’t figure to get much easier for Bill Parcells, Cris Carter, Charles Haley, Andre Reed and the other finalists who couldn’t garner enough support to join those elected to the Hall. The ballot will…
