A 2nd round pick in 2009, Andy Levitre finally emerged as an above average player last year, after 2 mediocre years in 2009-2010. Levitre ranked 6th among all guards on ProFootballFocus last season, making 12 starts at left guard. He also made 3 starts at left tackle and 1 at center, though he graded out much better at guard than anywhere else. He allowed 5 sacks and 11 pressures, while committing 5 penalties on the season, but only allowed 4 sacks and 7 pressures, with 4 penalties, in his 12 games at guard. Heading into the final year of his 4 year rookie deal, the Bills have begun extension talks with Levitre. He’s not an elite talent, but he’s above average, versatile, and has started all 48 games of his career. He won’t command Davin Joseph, Carl Nicks, or Jahri Evans money, but he could get a deal similar to Evan Mathis or Ben Grubbs. This offseason, Mathis got 25 million over 5 years and Grubbs got 36 million over 5 years. Both would be a major pay raise over the 615 thousand ...

Cordy Glenn’s versatility a major plus for Bills

The Buffalo Bills offensive line suffered a number of injuries last year and was one of the reasons for Ryan Fitzpatrick's decline towards the end of the season. Rookie Cordy Glenn comes to Buffalo playing every position on the offensive line except center at Georgia. That versatility is exactly what entices the Bills.

Grading the Buffalo Bills – 1998 Draft

Since it’s been a few weeks since I analyzed the Buffalo Bills’ 1997 NFL Draft, here’s a link to my original post, where I explain (in painstaking detail) the format of this project. However, the format is quite simple, so I don’t believe any prerequisite reading will be necessary to follow along. Today, I will be grading and analyzing one of the largest blunders in recent...

Bills CB McGee eager to put injuries behind him

Unable to recall the last time he didn't have a season derailed by injury, Buffalo Bills cornerback Terrence McGee looks to the heavens, wondering if the ''NFL gods,'' as he calls them, are trying to send him a message. If they are, the nine-year NFL veteran's not listening. McGee's no quitter. He's shown resilience in coming back from numerous operations...

Dorin Dickerson working out with Bills 1st team

Dorin Dickerson was one of the most fascinating prospects of the 2010 NFL Draft class. He played pretty much every position known to man at Pittsburgh, playing wide receiver, tight end, fullback, and linebacker. He also was productive in his final season at Pittsburgh, catching 49 passes for 529 yards and 10 touchdowns as primarily a tight end. He also ran the 40 in the 4.4s, but...

Derek Hagan and Donald Jones will compete for Bills’ #2 receiver job

With 3rd round rookie TJ Graham expected to focus on the slot in his 1st year in the league, Donald Jones has emerged as the favorite to start outside opposite Steve Johnson, but Derek Hagan also expects to compete for that starting job, according to buffalobills.com. David Nelson, who was actually the starter there for most of last season, is seen as a dark horse right now in that...

Donald Jones in the lead to be the Bills number two receiver

Getty Images Buffalo Bills Head Coach Chan Gailey announced in a press conference this week Donald Jones is in the lead to be the number two receiver alongside Stevie Johnson. While Gailey admits the final outcome is “still too early to call”, it appears that Jones is making all the right moves. Things have been going so well, in fact, he has also been working out again in the...

Vince Young's suit called 'hollow'

Vince Young's allegations that his former financial adviser Ron Peoples cheated the quarterback out of millions of dollars are described as ''hollow'' and ''without merit.'' In response to a lawsuit filed by the Buffalo Bills player in Houston this week, Peoples' attorney David Chaumette released a statement saying his client did nothing wrong...

Vince Young sues his former agent and financial advisor

Stevie Johnson’s rehab is “way ahead of schedule”

Getty Images We mentioned earlier that Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson was limited in Monday’s practice. Johnson told reporters after practice that he is “way ahead of schedule” after undergoing offseason groin surgery. “I’m ready to go,” Johnson said. “They said it was about six to eight [weeks for recovery], but I’m feeling like I’m ready to be out...

Bills Should Re-Sign Levitre Before Byrd

Buffalo Bills’ left guard Andy Levitre has been told that there have been some preliminary talks regarding a contract extension, according to WGR 550′s Joe Buscaglia. Speaking with Buscaglia after practice, Levitre stated, “There have been some small talks, but I don’t know how far along anything is,” he remarked. “I don’t know if they’re just getting started or...

The Quarterback Complex – A Buffalo Original Since 1996

Photo property of Kevin Hoffman / US Presswire Fickle bunch we are. The lot of us – Bills fans, sports fans, people. It’s applicable everywhere, but when it comes to our football team, specifically our quarterback, we may just be the touchiest group of babies there are. Last season, after years – excruciating years without a competent quarterback, we entered the...

Alaska: Where the Buffalo roam

As a Bills fan living in New Jersey, I spent my Sundays surrounded by Jets fans beaming with a sense of entitlement and an arrogance usually reserved for teams that have won a title after 1968. As a Bills fan living in Connecticut, my energy was spent saying, “I know,” to the sea of Patriots fans cascading their team’s accomplishments (along with speckles of chowda...
