Bills Host Two O-Linemen For Workouts
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Even with the regular season just a few weeks away, the Buffalo Bills are still making moves to shore up their depth.

Per NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Bills hosted offensive linemen Quinton Barrow and Garrett McGhin for workouts on Tuesday. Neither player has signed, but are certainly now on the team's radar.

Barrow is a rookie undrafted free agent who played for Division II Grand Valley State in college. He was a two-time first-team All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference selection, the conference's offensive lineman of the year as a senior and a Division II All-American. Leading up to the draft, scouts  praised his frame and agility, but noted his technique needs serious improvement.

Barrow had signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent, but was released later in the offseason.

On the other hand, McGhin has been around the NFL since 2019. He signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent, but was released that same preseason. Since then, he has spent time with the Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, New Jersey Generals (USFL), New York Giants and Arlington Renegades, plus a second stint with the Bills in 2020.

The Bills' working out these two linemen comes in the wake of veteran tackle Brandon Shell retiring on Monday. An NFL veteran of seven years, Shell joined the Bills in June and even played in Buffalo's preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday. Despite having a strong shot at making the roster, Shell unexpectedly decided to hang up his cleats just before the season.

The sudden loss of Shell certainly stings for the Bills, but they are being proactive in finding a potential replacement.
