Buffalo Bills starting tight end Scott Chandler practiced on a limited basis for a second straight day, and has what coach Chan Gailey calls ''a decent chance'' to play against Denver on Saturday. Chandler has missed the past two games with a left ankle injury. He's tied for the team lead with six touchdowns. The Bills (5-9) are already depleted at the position after Lee Smith (left fibula) was placed on injured reserve this week. Receivers Stevie Johnson (groin) and Ruvell Martin (hamstring) were also limited in practice Wednesday. Johnson has been bothered by the groin injury for much of the season, and Gailey expects him to play in Buffalo's home finale. The Bills have lost seven straight.

Gailey not touching Edwards issue

With the Bills defense slumping to 26th in the NFL in yards allowed, Buffalo coach Chan Gailey was asked today if he was satisfied with the performance of defensive coordinator George Edwards. Said Gailey: "This not the time to discuss all of that. We’re all doing the very best that we can, trying to put guys in position to be successful, everybody, in all three phases. That’s...

Buffalo Bills: The Curious Case of Ryan Fitzpatrick

It is hard not to root for Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. But recently, for football fans in Western New York and Buffalo expats across the country, the admiration has vanished for the former Harvard graduate that went from seventh-round pick, to backup, to starter, to 54 million dollar man. When Buffalo was riding high at 5-2, leading the AFC East with a triumph...

Losses and criticism piling up for skidding Bills

Buffalo Bills coach Chan Gailey maintains his confidence in Ryan Fitzpatrick despite the quarterback's latest dud. And with two games left, it isn't time to start questioning whether changes need to be made to his coaching staff. In the face of growing criticism, Gailey said Tuesday there's enough blame to go around rather than have him single out anyone on a freefalling...

Broncos Rosario: Bills defense is formidable — and big

I chatted for a few minutes at Dove Valley with Broncos tight end Dante Rosario. Here’s his scouting report on Denver’s opponent on Saturday, the Buffalo Bills: “They’re big up front,” Rosario said. “They have outside linebackers that are like defensive ends, because they made a little bit of a switch from a 3-4. They still have some of (the 3...

Dareus to practice

Bills head coach Chan Gailey said that Marcell Dareus will practice today (Tuesday), despite the fact that he has a painful left hand injury. Dareus left last week’s game with a left hand injury, was eventually re-inserted into the game but then exited for good last Sunday against the Dolphins in the second half. He initially tweaked the hand in the San Diego game two weeks...

Bills' home finale vs. Broncos blacked out on TV in Buffalo

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.—For all the buzz he's generated, Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow's presence couldn't prevent the Buffalo Bills home game against Denver on Saturday from being blacked out

Fitz not opposed to upping tempo

With their offense in a rut for the better part of the team’s seven-game losing streak, the idea has been raised by outside observers to speed up the tempo of the offense. Some of Buffalo’s greatest success as an offense has been in an up tempo style this season, even at times going no huddle. While one can argue that a two-minute offense often sees softer coverage from...
