During a conference call with fans on Tuesday night, Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti expressed optimism about the team’s ability to sign franchised defensive tackle Haloti Ngata to an extension.
He just may be experiencing a little sticker shock.
“I’m having a hard time giving away $60 million,” Bisciotti said via Jamison Hensley of The Baltimore Sun.
The 6-foot-4, 325-pound former first-round pick out of Oregon has 247 tackles (33 for a loss), 12 quarterback sacks, and 3 interceptions in his 78-game career that has included two straight trips to the Pro Bowl.
Ngata’s one-year tender is worth $12.476 million in guaranteed base salary.
