Well, that was good for a laugh. The fact that the New England Patriots signed former Jets quarterback Tim Tebow opened a new round of (well-deserved) derision at the Jets front office. The sports media trolls for sound bites of Tebow bitterness, or hints of Patriots strategy, good luck with that one. They are missing the point. Bill Belichick is the NFL’s most calculating head coach; I say that in the most complimentary way. Everything Belichick does is the results of careful planning. If Tim Tebow is on the roster, it is to solve a specific problem. The New York Jets are on New England’s schedule in Week Two. Nobody, not even the Jets, know who will start at quarterback in Week Two. It’s a Thursday night game, so there is only a short week to prepare. If Geno Smith is the man, there will be no video of his performance to set a defensive scheme. How better to solve the problem than by signing an option quarterback. The Jets have tinkered with...

New England a perfect spot for Tebow--FOX Sports

New England a perfect spot for Tebow--FOX Sports: Like I have said before, I have been saying this since day one. In his perfect NFL world, Tim Tebow would have the chance to compete for a starting quarterback spot in 2013. This isn’t happening. Thirty teams passed on signing Tebow following his April release from the New York Jets. Those franchises...

LSU Freek creates hilarious Tim Tebow Resurrection GIF

LSU Freek has done it again.  This GIF is extremely entertaining given how the media treats Tim Tebow.  It’s going to be a long summer with ESPN coving Tebow and the New England Patriots. [@LSUFreek]

NFL Rumors: What role will Tim Tebow play with New England Patriots?

Six weeks after being released by the New York Jets, QB Tim Tebow has reportedly found himself a new landing spot, with the New England Patriots. The move comes as the Patriots are getting ready to open an OTA on Tuesday and the polarizing player is expecting to be on scene and will practice with New England this week. At this point, one has to wonder what role will Tebow play for...

Tim Tebow: Why New England is The Best Place For The Maligned QB

When Tim Tebow passes his physical and signs with the New England Patriots, a marriage that should have been consummated a long time again will finally come to fruition. If there was ever a place for the former college superstar, it was in Boston under the tutelage of Josh McDaniels, his former head coach in Denver. It will also lay to rest the calls from hundreds of Tebow supporters...

Set to operate a Chelsea brothel before passing for the Patriots, Tim Tebow shouldn’t have signed with New England

The New England Patriots signed embattled chucker Tim Tebow to a two-year contract worth $1.36 million on Monday. Clipped by the New York Jets on April 29, it’s not shocking that offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels persuaded head coach Bill Belichick to ink the 25-year-old Tebow. While “Spygate’s” mastermind refused to reveal what position the 2007 Heisman Trophy earner...

Tim Tebow getting a New England Patriots trading card

Tim Tebow may have signed a two-year deal with the New England Patriots that includes no guaranteed money, but very few Tebowmaniacs are rattled by that concept. Tebow is hardly a lock to make the Patriots’ roster at the end of training camp or the preseason, yet that hasn’t seemed to slow apparel and memorabilia sales at [...]

Tim Tebow the lightning rod for so much praise and so much criticism, is back in the NFL, and the Boston Herald is making sure you know where: With the New England Patriots.

Mark Sanchez Takes All of Jets’ First-Team Reps

Photo Credit: NewYorkJets.com More bad news for fans of the New York Jets who are tired of the Mark Sanchez era and want rookie Geno Smith to take the reins, as Sanchez took all of the first-team reps on the first day of the Jets’ minicamp Tuesday. Sanchez, 26, completed four of eight passes with a sack and a near-interception, while Smith practiced with the second team, going...

Report: Patriots sign Tebow

In case you thought that Bill Belichick no longer considered himself the smartest guy in the room, the nightmare scenario has occurred. The New England Patriots have signed Tim Tebow. According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, the Patriots have signed Tebow and expect him to be in minicamp tomorrow. It’s not exactly a done deal that Tebow will make the team, however. It also remains to be...

Jacksonville Jaguars sign Northwestern star QB Mike Kafka

Tim Tebow is Kakfaesque. Sort of. Yes, the New England Patriots signing of Tebow Monday squeezed quarterback Mike Kafka out of the NFL. For one day. The Patriots released Kafka after signing him to a futures contract. And the team that most people Tebow would sign with, the Jacksonville Jaguars, are the franchise that picked up Mike Kafka. Which means Mike Kafka, a former Northwestern...
