Fantasy Football Champs:
According to official Buccaneers blog PewterReport.com, there is no clear-cut winner between LeGarrette Blount and Doug Martin for the starting running back job.Fantasy Spin:According to Bucs beat writer Dory LeBlanc, Martin's vision and anticipation set him apart from the other backs on the roster. Blount, meanwhile, had a nice block on Josh Freeman's blind side which allowed Freeman to complete a pass downfield. We expect Martin to get the job eventually, as he appears to be the more talented back as well as a fresh face that new coach Greg Schiano can sell to the fan base as they try to move away from last season's debacle.

Due to injuries and poor performance, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have started four different players at safety over the past two seasons. Eight different defensive backs saw time at safety in Tampa in 2010, and seven in 2011. It’s basically been a revolving door position two years running. Gone are Tanard Jackson, Sean Jones, and Corey Lynch. Cody Grimm returns [...]
Doug Martin is already showing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the potential impact he can have in both the running and passing games.
The Bucs selected Martin 31st overall and believe he has a chance to become the every-down running back the club has lacked for years.
LeGarrette Blount led Tampa Bay in rushing the past two seasons, but the hard-running, third-year pro did not play much...
TAMPA, Fla. Gray skies and a refreshing summer shower greeted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as they walked off the practice field Wednesday morning following another grueling training camp workout.
It was a welcome relief from the stifling heat and humidity. And it had to feel especially good to cornerback Aqib Talib considering the heat of a different sort hed faced for more than...
Last offseason, Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik caught some flack for re-signing right tackle Jeremy Trueblood to a two-year deal. After all, Trueblood has struggled during his time with the Bucs and his play was underwhelming in 2010.
But it was said that Pro Bowl guard Davin Joseph refused to re-sign with the Bucs unless Trueblood got a new deal of his own...
Carl Nicks sees no reason the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shouldn't be able to light up the scoreboard this season.
The All-Pro guard was acquired in free agency to bolster an offensive line that figures to be one of the team's strongest assets, and he expects the unit to set the tone for quarterback Josh Freeman to re-establish himself as a rising young star.
The 6-foot-5, 343...
Fans had a little scare when they saw Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman sporting a knee brace on his left leg during today's practice.
Don't worry though Bucs fans, your franchise signal caller is not injured. The brace is simply just a requirement under new head coach Greg Schiano.
Schiano is making all three of his quarterbacks wear knee braces on their front knee...
To say that the Tampa Buccaneers have invested heavily in the defensive line in the past few seasons is an understatement. The Bucs spent two first- and second-round selections on defensive tackles (Gerald McCoy and Brian Price) and ends (Adrian Clayborn and Da'Quan Bowers) in 2010 and 2011.
But Tampa Bay's plan to build a dominant defensive line for the next six to eight...
TAMPA, Fla. Its become something of a running bit for Tampa Bay Bucs head coach Greg Schiano to open his daily press briefing by stating what number workout has just been completed.
A reporter beat him to the punch Friday, triggering laughter throughout the room. But for the record, Day Seven of training camp was the most grueling yet, thanks to the extreme heat and lack of any...
Last season there were a significant amount of fantasy football players who simply did not perform quite the way we all thought they were going to.
We can attribute this to perhaps a shortened off-season thanks to the CBA debacle or just the player being in a crappy situation that nobody saw coming, but either way, a certain percentage of these players are certainly due for a...
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers remain sensitive in their efforts to re-develop their season-ticket base. That has led them to announce a new plan in which fans can choose a 12-month payment plan following surveys with current ticket holders. The Buccaneers value our Season Pass members and their input, so we're happy to accommodate their wish for more financial flexibility. We'...
