Before the previous posts could practically breathe, the Colts announced in the last hour that S Bob Sanders has been placed on injured reserve with his left elbow injury. He will need surgery to repair a torn biceps.
So, Melvin Bullitt, this is your time. Make the most of it. You've been playing well. Keep it up. No more looking over your shoulder. Oh, and if at all possible, please stay healthy.
Fans, if you are so inclined to ask about Sanders' future, I lean toward this team cutting its losses and unloading the salary if next season is, in fact, an uncapped year. Sanders played two games this year. He did not show he was 100 percent.
I won't criticize the organization with even the slightest edge if they decide it's time to part ways. He was a great player. Maybe he can be again. But he's been hurt too much.
If the owners and players union do ratify a working agreement for 2010, then I can see why the Colts wouldn't want a fortune of dead money toward...
