LB Michael Boley was at practice yesterday but he got no further than the stationary bike. He is nursing a sore hamstring and it is putting a huge damper on his – and the Giants’ – immediate future.
With the nemesis Eagles with Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy visiting this week, the Blue needs Boley – their only natural, veteran LB – now more than ever. When he left midway through the game last Sunday, the Giants’ defense fell into disarray, missed some assignments and surrendered big plays to the 49ers.
He seems optimistic that he will play Sunday, but the consensus is that a lot of things must fall into place in short time for that to happen…..
“We’ll see,” said Boley when asked if he’ll practice this week. “Right now I’m just trying to take it slow, make sure everything is 100 per cent.”
Playing is a different story. But, usually if you can practice, you can play. Boley feels that both are possibilities.

Michael Boley was unable to practice on Wednesday due to the hamstring strain he suffered in San Francisco, and according to a source familiar with the injury, it looks unlikely he will be able to play against Philly. Tom Coughlin said only that Boley is “day to day” — a description the linebacker echoed.

Giants linebacker Michael Boley said he is still “holding out hope” that he will recover from his hamstring injury in time to face the Eagles on Sunday. But that doesn’t seem likely , and that could mean that rookie Mark Herzlich sees his first action — and possibly his first start — on defense.
