Let me start by saying, it´s a bit mystifying how our Value Players did, this Sunday.Consider this:DT/NG Phil Taylor had 0 Tackles, 0 Sacks, 0 Points Defended and 1 QB Hit.CB Joe Haden had 3 Tackles, 0 Sacks, 1 Points Defended and 0 QB Hits.Rookie OLB/DE Barkevious Mingo had 3 Tackles, 0 Sacks, 0 Points Defended and 0 QB Hits.TE Jordan Cameron did not exactly ignite Sparks in combination with the Flintstone QB Brandon Weeden, like they seemed primed to do initially. 5/6 Receptions, 64 Yards, 0 TDs.WR Greg Little´s declining Stat Line is beyond salvation, as he grabs only 2/5 for 12 Yards, but the Gods are lenient, and let him have 1 TD. Let me tell you this, right away! As our new Kick Returner, 1 for 21 Yards, he´s the Harbinger Of Sorrow. Because 1 Kick Off Return, of course, means we didm´t score a whole lot.QB Brandon Weeden falls a bit short of his prior production, in the 50 Plus Range for Attempts, at 43. His QB Rating drops to 41.2, as he completes only 26/43 for 292 Yards for 2 TDs. In the negative he´s a bit better, with only 2 Interceptions and taking only 2 Sacks. Albeit for a loss of 23 Yards.RB Willis McGahee holds some ideal value to some fans, as the outright replacement for Trent Richardson. He´s pedestrian, gaining 37 Yards on 10 Carries.Lower tier value production:Chris Ogbonnay, as the designated Jack Of All Trades, as he was a big enough entity with only a "FB" in front of his name, to chase away Brock Bolen, Owen Marecic and Brad Smelley, sweeping that cupboard clean. He seems to pride himself on retaining, never exceeding his 7th Round Tender from way back in 2009, when the Rams relieved Texas of this prospect. As the pivot for these waivers at FB/TE, he´s worth 5 Carries for 24 Yards, and relieves Brandon Weeden of Mid Distance Pressure with 7 Receptions for 61 Yards and 1 TD. Making him look like he´s the All Purpose Back, Joique Bell himself. Who looked quite paltry by the way, on the day he plows to 25 Yards on 7 Carries and is worth just 2 Targets, of which he turns 1 into a Gain of 8 Yards, and hopefully a 1st Down.Marquise Gray, you say? Maybe the Golden Loafer would have liked to have tossed the ball, being an Ex-QB. But he maintains his potential towards the Browns, with 0 Catches on 0 Targets. But, wow. He can add an RB to his Pre Cursor, the TE. 1 Carry for 10 Yards, on a mighty scamper! He is now on roster, as RB/TE Marquise Gray, Cleveland Browns. Rather than QB Whatnot, 49ers, who bestowed the original trust in him, when he wasn´t drafted.Come on now. Lets just agree, that FB/RB Dennis Johnson and RB Fozzy Whittaker do not hold immense value save keeping spots on the Depth Chart warm, as they´re not trusted with the ball at all. Neither Rushing, nor Receiving. Bobby Rainey, who returned a few Kicks, when he was new, keeps his meager hopes alive, with just 1 Carry for 0 Yards. Can we also agree, that that doesn´t even signal Trade Bait?I have more sad news for the Faithful. The Week 5 AFC Special Teams Player of the Week Travis Benjamin got shown his limits this week, returning 3 Punts for -10 Yards. Minus 10 Yards! Wonder what Magic Potion "Rabbit" took last week, as he looked like an Olympic Sprinter, breaking a 2 Decade Long Record, by Eric Metcalf on Punt Returns (166 Yards), with 179 Return Yards on 7 Punt Returns, and etched his name in the Browns Record Book next to RB Jerome Harrison, who demolished Jim Brown´s Single Game Rushing Record of 237 Yards, with a gargantuan effort for such a short guy of 286 Yards, putting his #35 Browns Jersey in the Hall Of Fame even. What´s Travis Benjamin´s Jersey Number? #80? I don´t know if we can quite send it to the Hall Of Fame. But, if my Home Work is correct, he may be in 4th on the Single Game Punt Return Yardage List now. LeRoy Irvin had 207 Yards in 1981. George Atkinson had 205 Yards in 1968. And Eddie Drummond had 199 Yards in 2004.Maybe, Puner Spencer Lanning was this week´s hero, because he gets to rid the Browns of the hot ball, 6 times. Rivalring Brandon Weeden´s 292 Yards through the air, with 284 Yards, averaging 47.3 Yards a piece.Billy Cundiff is no worse for wear as a Kicker, going 1/1, for a 40 Yard FG.Back to value:WR Davone Bess, who bought us so much time in this year´s Draft, sees his output severely diminished, notching 2/3 for only 21 Yards. The Chudd´s TE from Carolina, Gary Barnidge is still feasting on Humble Pie, at the rate of 2/3 Catches, for 6 hard fought Yards.Back to Defense:Lets be exact. Normally, you like to go top to bottom. In this case, I´d like to start at the bottom, before we declare the day´s winners.Undrafted, 2013 Jacksonville Jaguars Pick, LB Paul Hazel: 1 Tackle.2012 Browns, 3rd Round Pick, DT John Hughes: 1 Tackle.2013 Rams, 5th Round Pick, LB Brandon McGee: 1 Tackle.Undrafted, 2012 Browns Pick, S Johnson Bademosi: 1 Tackle.2009 Ravens, 2nd Round Pick! High Priced Off Season Acquisition, OLB Paul Kruger: 1 Tackle.2012 Bills, 5th Round Pick, LB Tank Carder: 2 Tackles.Did you know, High Priced Off Season Acquisition, DE Desmond Bryant went to Harvard? Neither did I. The Undrafted, 2009 Raiders Pick got: 3 Tackles, 1 QB Hit.2011 Browns, 5th Round Pick, CB Buster Skrine: 4 Tackles, 2 Points Defended.2009 Falcons, 3rd Round Pick, CB Chris Owens: 5 Tackles, 1 Points Defended.2008 Browns, like an Elder Statesman you might thing already, 6th Round Pick, Ahtyba Rubin: 7 Tackles.Undrafted, 2012 Browns Pick, FS Tashaun Gipson: 7 Tackles, 1 Points Defended.Team Captain, and eternal 2nd Round Tender Getter, 2006 Browns, 2nd Round Pick, D´Quell Jackson: 8 Tackles.Undrafted, 2011 Browns Pick, ILB Craig Robertson: 8 Tackles, 1 Sack. And finally back to those Value Guys, we were talking about:2012 Browns, 2nd Round Value, Browns Supplemental Draft Pick, WR Josh Gordon. Who cooled more heals than Air Conditioning in Cleveland, in the 2013 Draft, because we sacrificed that Pick, last year on a whim. And it was absolutely irredeemable, no matter what his problem: 1 Carry, 0 Yards. 7/9 Receptions for 126 Yards.2010 Browns, 2nd Round Pick, out of glorious Oregon, SS T.J. Ward, had a fantastic outing, tallying: 11 Tackles and 2 Points Defended. On to our Line:With the return of ROG Shawn Lauvao, I would say they were so, so. 14 Passing 1st Downs and 269 Yards Passing is Work Man Like. Yielding just 2 Sacks to the Lions Scary D-Line is fantastic! 8 Rushing 1st Downs for 126 Yards by several Rushers? It´s improved. Not set your hair on fire, great. But, improved. The QB isn´t sitting back there, with just a prayer of his Receivers getting open. You´re beginning to offer an alternative. So, what happened? It looks like we were cashing Pay Cheques, only in the 2nd Quarter. 4 Yard TD to Ogbonnaya. 2 Yard TD to Little. FG by Billy Cundiff. End of story for the Browns. How did the Lions do?Matthew Stafford really shares the love to all his Receivers. He connects with 9 WRs, 2 of which are RBs (Bell and Bush). He´s 25/43 for 248 Yards and 4 TDs. He´s picked off for 1 Interception and takes 1 Sack. End of story for the Lions. That says it all. 4 TDs, Par Avion? Boarding Passes please, would you like extra peanuts? Matthew Stafford attains a record of his own: "Stafford has 13 games with at least three TD passes, breaking Bobby Layne's team record."Reggie Bush continues to shine and puts the luster back in the Lions Fans eyes. 17 Carries for 78 Yards. But, 135 Overall, as he adds 5 Receptions for 57 Yards, including a TD. Not bad, for a Heisman Trophy Winner, who´s career seemed stalled on the Saints, just a few years ago, huh? New Life indeed. We talked about how Ogbonnaya seemed to have morphed into Joique Bell. 7 Carries and 1 Catch is a bit Counter Careeristic for him. He´s been hot, since last year, in my esteem.Apropos, last year. Mikel Leshoure shows up. If only for 2 Carries and 6 Yards.Lets not end up posting their Daily Bread.Just this. Fellow Georgian, to Matthew Stafford, Kris Durham is the top WR on their day, with 8 Receptions for 83 Yards.TE Joseph Fauria must have channeled his inner Jordan Cameron. As he scores 3 times! To think, I was one click away from adding the guy to my Fantasy Team, just yesterday! And, I suppose the Lions were so much more confident, with Calvin Johnson present. Joe Haden earns his biscuits, keeping the great WR to just 3 Receptions and 25 Yards. The longest was 10 Yards.LB DeAndre Levy had 7 Tackles as Top Tackler. And adds the 2 Interceptions.Tulloch has 7 Tackles.Houston has 6.Delmas and Slay have 5.Their scary D-Line appears with only 2 Sacks. DEs Devin Taylor and Willie Young.Suh? 1 Tackle, 1 QB Hit.Fairley? 3 Tackles, 1 QB Hit.And Ansah? 2 Tackles. How did their O-Line do?Well, they got 24 First Downs to our 23, with much more time of Possession. They had the ball 33:29. And we had it 26:31. They amassed 72 Plays, while we got 66. 6 Rushing 1st Downs was a stiff enough pace to make Reggie Bush look good, I guess. And 25 Completions for only 248 Yards, but 4 TDs and only 1 Sack and 1 Interceptions, means their QB had plenty of time to sort out his favored Passing Targets. What else seems obvious? Neither side was shy, in terms of niceties. Proving, that Suh and Company were certainly in the house, at First Energy Stadium. They get us 65 Gratuitous Yards, via 8 Penalties. But, Horton´s boys waste no time picking up the slack, giving them 87 Yards, with no Ground Work, on 9 Rule Violations.Box Score: http://http://scores...ameId=331013005Article: http://http://scores...ameId=331013005
