PLAYERS: Ray Edwards
TEAMS: Atlanta Falcons
Nicholas Capes, the man who took that hilarious dive against Ray Edwards in their February 9 fight, has been suspended indefinitely from boxing in North Dakota. According to the Pioneer Press, Combative Sports Commissioner Al Jaeger is for some reason taking this whole thing extremely seriously and has done a video review and continues to investigate. What is left for Jaeger to investigate we don’t know, but we’ll let Jaeger do his thing. In Capes’ defense, he was a last minute fill-in boxer who had no idea he would be fighting the much larger Edwards. Event promoter Cory Rapacz says Capes was a last-minute replacement for a couple of no-show boxers and didn’t realize what he was getting into before he got into the ring with Edwards, a former Vikings defensive end. He says officials expected Capes to try but says the backlash against Capes is unfair. These “officials” should probably realize that their little fight club isn’t that serious. • Once again another discarded NFL player makes a mockery of the Sweet Science. Ray Edwards or Tommy Z can give me a call later this year when I get back from Afghanistan and I will ensure that the sport is paid its due respect.

Ray Edwards is now boxing, knocked a guy out without actually hitting him (Video)

Former NFL defensive end Ray Edwards looks like he’s taken up a career in boxing. In the video above Edwards knocks a man out without even touching him.  The other guy was clearly scared and decided to flop down.  I don’t blame him since he’s obviously a lot smaller. Ex-Falcon Ray Edwards KOs opponent without touching him

In what has to be one of the funniest boxing knockouts— or worst dives— ever, former Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards laid out an opponent without even touching the guy. Edwards, who was released by Atlanta in November, gets into the ring with some chubby little guy in a "Co-Main Event" professional boxing match in West Fargo, ND the...

Former NFL player Ray Edwards knocks out opponent at boxing match with phantom punch (Video)

For those of you who don't remember Ray Edward's NFL career, he played defensive end with the Minnesota Vikings/Atlanta Falcons from 2006-2012. Since he's not currently on an NFL roster, Edwards is trying to make a name for himself in the boxing world and during a recent fight against Corey Briggs in North Dakota, it appears that Ray used a "phantom punch"...

Something about Ray Edwards’ boxing career isn’t right

Former Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards has been having trouble finding work in the NFL.  He was referred to as a locker room cancer, despite the fact he had a fairly productive career, posting 8+ sacks twice in a seven-year career. As a new career, Edwards picked up boxing, although his skills seem to be lacking and this fight is absolutely staged...

Former Falcons Ray Edwards is a Boxer Now; Watch Opponent Take Worst Dive Ever (Video)

Ray Edwards was never the same after his failed relationship with Stripper LaStarya. Women can have that affect on you and it has sent him into a downward spiral. To make matters worse as you will see from the video provided by...

Ray Edwards: From NFL to Air Boxer

((ht: deadspin.com)) Oh how the mighty have fallen. Former NFL Defensive End Ray Edwards was let go mid-season in 2012 by the Atlanta Falcons for basically getting paid to underperform. A Boxing Flop Soccer Players Would Be Proud Of

Former Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards is a boxer, or he would like you to think he is. During his latest fight he fought a last minute opponent who was much smaller, had shorter reach, and had a fairly large belly. That man’s name was Mike Smith, and Miek Smith wanted nothing to do with Ray Edwards. Check out the technically not TKO by Ray with a massive whiff to Mike’s...

Ray Edwards wins fight; opponent suspended for dive

Boxer Nicholas Capes suspended after flopping to canvas against former NFL player Ray Edwards.

Nicholas Capes, fighter who got knocked about by Ray Edwards’ phantom punch, gets suspended (Video)

Free agent defensive end Ray Edwards has always had a thing for boxing, but I highly doubt he ever thought scoring a knockout could be as easy as it was during a recent match in North Dakota against a “fighter” named Nicholas Capes. The video you see above has gone viral, and it clearly shows Capes taking the dive of the century early in the fight when Edwards missed him with...
