Here’s a thing about Tom Brady maybe you hadn’t noticed. Guy never shuts up about other people sleeping. It’s always, “Make sure you get your rest...” and “It’s important for us to get our rest...” From postgame breakdowns to press conferences, the guy never tires talking about not being tired. Brady has opened a sports performance shop at Patriot Place and, when that place has a grander opening than the soft one it’s had to this point, we’ll get a longer look at what Brady favors in terms of good health. Suffice to say rest will be part of it. “It’s a physical sport and injuries happen all the time,” Brady said when asked why he’s always pummeling the rest angle. “Sometimes you overdo things and the only time to recover is when you give yourself some time to take a break, whether that’s a Tuesday afternoon or a whether that’s a good night’s sleep. Those are all important this time of year. The games come to you so quickly. It’s really a marathon for us. It starts in la

The New England Patriots: The Patriot way’s new core

Nobody lurks in the shadows of the NFL quite like the New England Patriots. Following Wednesday’s entrée of a World Series victory for the Boston Red Sox, what better for dessert than a Patriots blowout victory over the struggling Pittsburgh Steelers? Week after week the Patriots seem to grow a little more. Week after week the Patriots seem to get ignored a little more. But the...

Brady having best bye week ever

It's official: Even Tom Brady's bye weeks are better than everyone else's. Let's face it: His Halloweens are better too. And most of his Sundays. And his ... uh ... what were we talking about?

WATCH: Belichick, Brady joke about Red Sox players being small

The New England Patriots invited several member of the 2013 Boston Red Sox to Gillette Stadium this past Sunday to honor their World Series championship prior to kickoff against the Pittsburgh Steelers. More than a half-dozen Sox players showed up, and multiple Patriots players were quite astonished by how small they were in person. Fortunately for us, Bill Belichick was mic’d...

Brady, Patriots lead way - surprise! - in AFC East

(Eds: With AP Photos.) By DENNIS WASZAK Jr. AP Sports Writer These aren't the same New England Patriots everyone's used to seeing. Sure, it's still Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, but who are those receivers? And, with all the injuries, who are some of those guys on defense? Well, it doesn't matter. The Patriots are still the class of the AFC East, despite new faces...

New England Patriots: 2013 Week 10 NFL Power Rankings (#4)

Last week: 6 (+2) Record: 7-2 Last week, I criticized Tom Brady’s play with the caveat that I believed he could turn it around, but that I’d need to see it to believe it. Well I saw it last week. Brady’s passes had so much more life on them and his receiving corps stepped up big time. Aaron Dobson appears to have broken out as a legitimate outside receiver, while Danny Amendola...

Mic’d up: Tom Brady, Bill Belichick talk how tiny Red Sox are

Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and Josh McDaniels couldn’t quite get over how small the Boston Red Sox players were when the world series champions were honored before the Patriots/Steelers game this past weekend. Keep in mind that nothing compares to the size of Bill Belichick’s ego, Josh McDaniels’ stack of illegal opponent game films, and the erections of every man that looks...

Shane Vereen Will Have Huge Impact on Patriots’ Offense As Tom Brady Has Missed Third-Down Running Back (Mailbag)

The Patriots couldn’t be entering the bye week at a better time. Players are banged up, the team’s coming off its best victory of the season and there’s plenty of time to prepare for a Panthers team that matches up with New England extremely well. Luckily for the Patriots, they could be getting back Aqib Talib and Shane Vereen in that game. An opposing team has no tape...

Fantasy Football Week 10 Preview

Week 10 of the NFL season begins on Thursday with the Washington Burgundys versus the Minnesota Vikings at the Mall of America Field. For those unaware, the teams on BYE this week are the Cleveland Browns, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, and NY Jets. I know a bunch of you are looking for Josh Gordon, Jamaal Charles, and Tom Brady (he’s back!!) replacements, so read along...

Midseason Grades for the Patriots

With the bye week here, it is a good time to reflect on midseason grades for the Patriots, as the team is at the 7-2 mark. Grades reflect on-field production AND expectations of the various units from when the season started. Quarterback - B: Tom Brady, even including the game against the Steelers, has struggled this season so far. Part of this is due to his receiving corps...

Tom Brady’s Deep Passing Proficiency Key to Sudden Turnaround, Adrian Peterson Needs Help and Other NFL Thoughts

The focus of the NFL is trapped in Miami this week, and not because of the team’s landmark win over the Bengals either. But even with Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin dominating the headlines, there was plenty else that happened across the league in Week 9. The Packers won the injury “Woe of the Week” award as Aaron Rodgers fractured his collarbone in Monday night’s “backup...
