File photo by The Republican / Illustration by MassLive.com I hate the Patriots. I don’t hate Tom Brady. I think I hate UGGs. I do know one thing. Great PR can be brilliantly simple. As a diehard Jets fan and a communications person by trade, I couldn’t help but stop and smile at the recent tweets indicating Brady had gifted all his teammates pairs of UGG boots prior to their trip to Indianapolis for the Super Bowl. Personally, I wouldn’t be caught dead in UGGs as they’re suuuuch a chick brand (which is the same thing I said about Seven jeans before going around and wearing them). Who knows? Maybe UGG will become a brand that is equally popular with the fellas as it is with the ladies. That’s the point of hiring a manly, yet fashionable spokesperson like Tom Brady. Right? Regardless, what a great, little PR ploy by the brand, no? “Hey, Tom…you mind if we give you 50 or so pairs of UGGs to give to your teammates? Just do us a favor, give it t...

Super Bowl XLVI remains just under two weeks away but it is rather clear that one man will be a resounding loser in the court of public opinion in the days, weeks, and months to follow the festivities in Indianapolis. Brady doesn’t want to talk about promise to Kraft

There is an oft-repeated story about Tom Brady’s rookie season in New England.  Brady was about to introduce himself to owner Robert Kraft when Kraft beat him to the punch. Jints look to tight-en up on Pats’ duo

The last time the Giants tangled with the Patriot, Tom Brady tossed two touchdown passes. Both went to tight ends, which is no great surprise. Rob Gronkowski caught eight passes for 101 yards and Aaron Hernandez caught four for 35. Both found their way into the end zone. The Giants...

Cleaning out the tape recorder with more goodies from Patriots WR Chad Ochocinco

There were a few items left on the cutting room floor from my lengthy interview with Chad Ochocinco Friday, that appeared in yesterday’s paper. Even with a full page spread, some goodies got left out. But that’s why blogs come in handy. You don’t miss a beat, so here’s a few more from the Ocho file. Naturally, I asked him about Tom Brady, and if his impressions...

More than 25,000 fans send the Patriots off to Indy for Super Bowl XLVI

Before the Patriots headed out to Indianapolis to begin the festivities leading up to Super Bowl XLVI, they went to Gillette Stadium for a send-off rally. I was flying when it happened but when I landed, I can’t deny that I was surprised. Turns out, 25,000 of you flocked to Gillette to send the team off, and this is a solid summation right here. Players and coaches took turns...
