Anything Brady Quinn says about Tim Tebow should be taken with a grain of salt. If Quinn were not bitter toward Tebow for the way things have gone in Denver, that would be a bit of a surprise. Quinn still wants a chance to start in the NFL, and Tebow came out of nowhere and jumped him on the depth chart and completely stole the show in Denver.

While people tend to praise Tebow for his humility and the way he goes about his life, Brady disagrees. Michael Silver recently spoke to a number of NFL people about Tebow for GQ Magazine, one of whom was Quinn. The entire thing is worth a read, but the former Notre Dame star in particular had some interesting quotes.

“If you look at it as a whole, there’s a lot of things that just don’t seem very humble to me,” Quinn said. “When I get that opportunity, I’ll continue to lead not necessarily by trying to get in front of the camera and praying but by praying with my teammates, you know?”

Quinn isn’t the first person to call Tebow out for being too in-your-face with his religion, but most of the time he can’t help it. When he goes to the sidelines to drop down on his knee and pray, all the cameras follow him. That isn’t exactly the same thing as doing it “in front of the camera.” Quinn also made it clear how bitter he is that Tebow jumped him on the depth chart after Kyle Orton went down.

“Early in the season, there was a game when Kyle (Orton) got hurt and the coaches were calling for me to go in, but Kyle got up and finished the game out,” he said. “So I was the second-string guy. Then, a few weeks later, they decided to put Tim in. I felt like the fans had a lot to do with that. Just ’cause they were chanting his name. There was a big calling for him. No, I didn’t have any billboards. That would have been nice.”

There’s a lot of truth to that, but it sounds like someone is letting jealousy get the best of them. The billboards fans purchased and media buzz certainly helped the Broncos make the decision to play Tebow, but it doesn’t look like they’re regretting it. Quinn is a draft bust. That’s nobody’s fault but his own.
