New England’s deep backfield is going to be a little thin for the next four weeks.
The NFL announced on Friday that rookie running back Brandon Bolden has been suspended for the next four games beginning immediately for violating the league’s policy against performance enhancing substances.
“Brandon Bolden of the New England Patriots has been suspended without pay for four games for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances,” the statement read. “Bolden’s suspension begins immediately. He will be eligible to return to the Patriots’ active roster on Monday, Dec. 3 following the team’s Dec. 2 game against the Miami Dolphins.”
The undrafted Mississippi product has 43 carries for 234 yards and two touchdowns this season.
The NFL will not announce which drug caused the failed test.
