Earlier today we reported that New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs is willing to take a pay cut, in order to come back next season to try and win another Super Bowl.
Jacobs also stated he wouldn’t be against playing for the Jets and head coach Rex Ryan, according to Sam Borden of the New York Times.
Despite Jacobs’ outburst towards Ryan after December’s win over the Jets, he doesn’t hold a grudge.
“I want to be a Giant,” said Jacobs. “It was a situation. We were rivals then. There’s no apology needed.”
“I like the way Rex handles his business,” said Jacobs. “The guys on that team I know, know how I feel.”
I think the Jets are looking to get younger at the running back position, which leads me to believe they won’t be interested in Jacobs, since he’s rapidly declining and will be 30 years old by the time the 2012 season begins.
