Last season, wide receiver Brandon Lloyd caught 74 passes for more than 900 yards with the New England Patriots, but was released this offseason to help save the team roughly $3 million dollars.
Lloyd has the reputation of being a tough guy to get along with in the locker room, but he is best known for being a very productive receiver, even at the age of 32.
Looking around the NFL, a few teams have some serious questions at the wide receiver position as training camp is approaching rapidly.
Here are a few teams that would be a great fit for Lloyd.
New York Jets
Unless the Jets can find some offensive weapons, it won’t matter who is starting for them at quarterback this year. Santonio Holmes is coming back from a season ending injury last year, so who knows how he’ll perform early on. The rest of the Jets receiving core is a joke, and Lloyd would instantly be a major upgrade over anyone on their roster.
