Per Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic (via Twitter), the Arizona Cardinals are currently in negotiation with wide receiver Braylon Edwards. Somers further suggests Edwards will be signed to a short-term deal.
This move is just one in a line that shows how committed the Cardinals are to improving an offense that ranked 26th in the NFL in points scored. Edwards will play opposite Larry Fitzgerald, but Todd Heap will be a major threat in the middle of the field and red zone if new quarterback Kevin Kolb can feed them all receptions. That can happen if ex-Packers guard Daryn Colledge can help in pass protection, an area in which Arizona struggled last season.
These moves, if combined with an improved defense to boot, could lead to a resurgence of the Cardinals in an unstable AFC West.
