Pittsburgh Steelers rookie undrafted defensive back Robert Golden played a lot of snaps Sunday in the 27-24 loss Sunday to the Dallas Cowboys, but the one snap that he played safety in the game is one that he is sure not to forget for a while. The play I am talking about is the 17 yard touchdown pass from Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo to tight end Jason Witten on 1st and 10 with 11:02 left to go in the first half. Below are two animated gifs of the play from the All-22 tape so you can see what happened. The Steelers technically were in their Big Nickel package on this play in cover-3 Read more [...]

Tomlin says Big Ben's comments was just frustration

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin believes Ben Roethlisberger's post-game comments about offensive coordinator Todd Haley were all out of frustration, and said Roethlisberger is "on board with what we're doing."    "That was a tough, hard-fought football game, an emotional one, and. when you come up short, there are frustrations associated with that...

Todd Haley likely out if Pittsburgh misses the playoffs

Following the Steelers' loss on Sunday to the Dallas Cowboys, Ben Roethlisberger publicly questioned offensive coordinator Todd Haley's play calling, and in doing so, Roethlisberger may have pushed the Steelers towards abandoning Haley and his offensive system. At times, Pittsburgh has looked nothing short of prolific on offense this season. The rest of the time, however...

Roethlisberger Apologizes for Speaking the Truth

Peyton Manning once ripped his ‘idiot kicker’ on national television and I don’t recall him apologizing to the Colts’ organization over it. He also ripped his offensive line a couple of times following tough losses and while he apologized to them privately, he did not do so publicly to them or his organization. Broncos’ legend John Elway used to tear into his receivers...

Steelers Defensive Coverage Stats Versus Cowboys – Week 15

Below are the coverage stats for the Pittsburgh Steelers following their 27-24 overtime loss Sunday to the Dallas Cowboys. The completion percentage of 71% is down right awful as is the 8.1 yards per attempt. Josh Victorian was targeted 9 times and allowed 7 completions. I should note that a few were screens, but the yards after the catch, 42 to be exact, is something a Steelers...

Playoff picture week 16: Tony Romo says he can bring the Cowboys back from any deficit, his play backs it up and their playoff hopes may depend on it

The NFC East has been tight all season and the final two weeks are shaping up to be interesting to say the least. Right now, the Redskins and rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III lead the division with two games to play. As you’ll see in our week 16 playoff picture, it’s conceivable that two teams wind up at 10-6 and into the playoffs but I think when the dust settles the Dallas...

Pouncey Twins Are Working The System To Get Each Other Voted To The 2013 Pro Bowl

The Pouncey twins are working the system real hard in an effort to get each other to the 2013 Pro Bowl as Chris Tomasson of FOX Sports Florida reports on Friday that Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey said there's an agreement between Dolphins and Pittsburgh Steelers players to get both he and his twin brother Maurkice Pouncey voted into the annual All-Star game in Hawaii. ...

Steelers, Bengals likely to decide the AFC's final playoff spot on Sunday

The Bengals could lock up a wildcard position in this year's playoffs with a win Sunday against the Steelers. Meanwhile, the Steelers could all but lock up a wildcard position by beating the Bengals. In short, the 6th seed in the AFC playoffs will likely be decided this weekend. While the Steelers trail the Bengals in the wildcard race by one game, they aren't in a powerless...

Cowboys Stadium: Labor Day college games into '24

The Labor Day weekend show at Cowboys Stadium will include a top college football game through at least 2024. A Look Back (1973): Cowboys Thump Saints on Monday Night Football

Archie Manning visited Texas Stadium on a Monday night in 1973. The Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints have faced one another 24 times since 1967. The Cowboys won the first five games between 1967 and 1969, but most of those games were relatively close. In 1971, Dallas faced New Orleans in October at time when Tom Landry was still alternating between Roger Staubach and Craig Morton...
