Head coach Andy Reid and head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder announced that Pro Bowl guard Shawn Andrews underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair the back injury that he suffered in the Week 2 loss to Dallas.
The surgery will not force Andrews to be placed on the injured reserve list. Burkholder said that the recovery time could range from six weeks to three months. In the meantime, Max Jean-Gilles will remain the starter at right guard in Andrews' absence.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Robert Watkins in Marina Del Ray, Cal. Andrews is still in California at this time and will remain
