The Baltimore Ravens cut Brendon Ayanbadejo on Thursday and immediately reports came out that it was in part due to his views on gay rights. Ayanbeja, 36, tweeted early Friday morning that the release had more to do with his age then his views. “Just a heads up I did an interview today and no way said I was cut because my views. I said my talk was louder than my production & at 36″ The Ravens used Ayanbadejo as an occasional player on defense last season. He is a three-time Pro Bowl player for his efforts on defense. “When you are not producing it is a fair move. You can find cheaper guys to do what I do. Ravens are the organization in the nfl period!” Teams will not be knocking down the door to sign Ayanbadejo but there figures to be an opportunity somewhere in the NFL if he chooses to continue his NFL career.
