BRENT CELEK 2009 PRO BOWLER.

FYI: EAGLE TE's don't drill with the O-Line. Well now you know why our TE's aren't good blockers! You can't sync up with the guy next to you, if you don't really know what he's thinking. To prep for 2009, Brent Celek needs to have a few chit-chats with Offensive Line Coach Juan Castillo for in-line blocking tips and techniques. Modern era TE's are famous for getting buddy-buddy with quarterbacks in training camp. They room with them, help them study playbook adjustments, etc. This is fine, but the TE's should also find time to have a few meals with the O-line, so they can pick each others brains about what they each saw during the two a days. Jon Runyan led the EAGLES with 7 sacks allowed this year. You wonder how many of those would have been avoided if the RT and TE were already in each other's heads. Everyone says that the area Celek has to improve is his blocking. Well this is how you do it. Take it from a former lineman, communication is your best weapon on the line. Also I would like to see Celek run more short curl (3-5 yard) stuff. Jay Novacek, and former EAGLE Ed West made a living on that pass. It's not glamorous, but it keeps chains moving, and forces mistakes by the strong safety (feet covering WR, eyes covering TE).
