A report out by USA Today's Jarrett Bell says that the New Orleans Saints, namely Jonathan Vilma, Charles Grant, Mike Ornstein and Joe Vitt all pooled their money together to offer the bounty on Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre during the 2009 NFC Championship game.
"The bounty on Minnesota Vikings QB Favre was at least $35,000, though it was never paid”, Bell wrote.
They didn’t quite get his head, but did get to his ankle, which they banged up during the game.
The NFL shared the new evidence with players on Friday and the media on Monday in the form of a typed transcription of a handwritten note with the headings "Minny Game" and "QB Out" on top, along with a list of names and amounts - $10,000 from linebacker Jonathan Vilma, Charles Grant and former team consultant Mike Ornstein, plus $5,000 attributed to Vitt.
