For the love of God Brett Favre, please just knock it off. It appears, once again, Brett Favre is talking retirement. Same old story. Same old song and dance, my friends.

  • I had always liked Brett (except his mispronunciation of his name) but after the crying game he put on this year to come back, he is starting to irritate me. It seems he just wants his name in the paper, just shut up and play (or not play) football!
  • I understand he has a passion for the game but so do fans of the sport. Its like so many greats walk away from the sport while you still can literally.
  • listen brett can do whatever he wants. retire. not retire. but just do it and stop talking about it.
  • He's a news hound. With all that's going on with the crygirls about TO and the coverage of Plaxico (and Pierce) Brett is just trying not to be forgotten.
  • Seems the Eagles fans were doing quite a bit of crying about McFlubb a few weeks ago. Skins in an upset.
  • And that has to do with this conversation how????
  • to his defense, he was asked the question, but still....
  • Well sometimes news coverage isn't so great look at OJ it hasn't helped his post football life at all. I mean Brett will be a future HOF and im sure NFL films will play several of his most memorable games. He will not be forgotton by the football world or record books.
  • really? news coverage hasn't helped OJs post football life. I though it was something else.
  • Hopefully Brett makes a decision soon because if the Jets lose to Miami at the end of the season they will be watching the playoffs from home.
  • The only reason he came back and played with the Jets was to shove it in Green Bay's FO's faces. Now that e's done that, what does he have left? Would be funny though if he made it to the AFC Championship game.
  • I just give up and dont even car anymore... He hasnt really even done THAT great with the Jets and is just realizing that he should have stayed retired... If I have to hear one more time that name Favre... Im going to stop watching ESPN and Around the Horn and my PTI...
  • It doesn't matter which game you watch, the announcers always speak the name Favre. I think they should outlaw the name during any sports game with the exception of the Jets!
  • What I do not understand if this story is true, is why he would bring it up now. He should just play the rest of the season and don't say anything until he sees if he has the itch before camp in August. If he does then play, if not, then finally walk off into the sunset.
  • Leave Brett alone! He's like a son to me!
  • hahaha...
  • brett do whats best for you, when it's best!
  • In fairness, he made up his mind faster than Mats Sundin did in the NHL.
  • The only reason Brett was indecisive about retiring was because as much as he wanted to play, he didn't want to continue under the conservative and freakish reign of teddy boy. Had it not been for teddy he would not have retired. teddy had Rodgers in place and had been pressuring Favre to retire for years. Brett is not a self-centered media slut like so many think. Media is obsessed with him because he has more personality than any other player in the NFL. Why can't people get off of his case and let him play for Gods sake.
I for one will never enjoy the game like I have for 18 years once he is retired. I hope he comes back for another year and the internal smallness within the organization can get past itself.
  • I lurve me some Brett Favre. lmao.

Ok, I don't see the big deal...first he was asked the question.
Second..he will eventually retire, so it will be in the news.

Might as well put on your big boy undies and deal with it.

  • Maybe we should send him a case of beer!
