NEW YORK — Reports from the New York Jets indicate that Brett Favre is negatively affecting the team’s annual Christmas gift exchange. “For a long time, every year we do a little ‘Secret Santa’ deal,” said receiver Laveraneus Coles.”Fifty dollar limit, you know, a couple of small things to brighten everyone’s spirits and keep us going [...]

  • Right on. I think this petty article reveals a huge rift in the NY Jets organization. Favre's presence is exposing jealousy on the team and the volitile team chemistry is a major factor the team can win 5 in a row, beating top tier teams and then losing to weaker ones. I don't believe the Jets can go far into the playoffs even if they make it. Not because of talent, but because of the insidious cancer that is pervasive in the organization. Backwoods Farve was given a seducing welcome into the franchise, but now faces the ugly reality of dealing with it's "Jerry Springerish" internal dysfunctions. Brett, you've had a good year, but the team can't accept you taking credit for any of its success, and won't embrace you as a team leader. Move on after the inevitable playoff fissle. To Jets players, attitude repentance is an option, if you are wiling to humbly sacrifice your attitudes for the sake of the organization that "feeds" you and for victory. Without an alignment of heart and mind in the fierce competetiveness of the NFL, the Jets are finished.
  • What a refreshing take on this article from Drostrander. I think it is pathetic that the Jets had success within their grasp and are willing to throw it away for such smallness and pettiness. The green eyed monster is just that and destroys from within. I would love to see Brett play another year since he brings a thrill and joy to the game like no one else, but with dissension within the franchise I doubt he will return for more abuse.
