Earlier this month the Titans released Marcus Robertson. This afternoon the Tennessee Titans have announced that they have hired Secondary coach, Brett Maxie. He was an undrafted safety from Texas Southern and originally signed with the Saints, and played nine years in New Orleans. Thereafter playing one season with Atlanta, two in Carolina, and finished in San Francisco his last year.  This 13 year NFL career included 153 games (104 starts), 23 interceptions and three touchdowns. Throughout 14 seasons of NFL coaching, Maxie has been with the Dolphins, Falcons, 49ers and Panthers. While working for the Cowboys in 2008, he helped the team to rank fifth in the NFL in passing defense and cornerback Terence Newman ranked ninth best in the NFL at that time with 16 interceptions.  In 2007, while he was in Miami, the Dolphins had the fourth-best passing defense in the NFL.
