Baltimore's season started with disappointment, which was followed by shock, depression and the numbness of failure. Fortunately, the team's abysmal performance was punctuated with two positives: yesterday's scrappy win over the lifeless Pittsburgh Steelers, and today's news that Brian Billick was fired by owner Steve Bisciotti.

  • I cant believe they really fired him. The Ravens are a team filled with excellent players and for them not to have a winning season is a shame.
  • A 1-5 mark in the division, the one being a week 17 meaningless game for the opponent, is pretty weak.
  • The D is still top notch, but need the coaching change...one decent draft from 11-5 or so, playoffs...still a nasty secondary
  • Coaching change and a QB who can get something done.
  • Hello...plus Billick can make up with Rodney now that he has more free time...hopefully, Rodney has to make him wait though...lol...PHilly, Happy new year
  • Any rumors on who might be interested in the Ravens job? I am assuming an offensive guy would be preferrable.
  • if Charlie Weis can run all the way to Baltimore being chased by ticked- off ND fans, that would be a nice job offer
  • I'm sure there will be a lot of candidates. Haven't heard any real good rumors yet.
  • Potentials: Rex Ryan, Jason Garrett, Kirk Ferentz, Marty Ball, Mike Mularkey, et al.

More than anything they need to shore up the secondary, which is the team's biggest weakness. Too many injuries exposed weak depth this season.
  • The usual suspects. Garreet is interviewing with Atlanta this week. Maybe Baltimore, too, but haven't heard anything yet.
  • Oh, and I forgot Cowher.
  • As long as he doesn't spit in the G.M. face while he's talking, he will be OK. I'd love to have him as a coach. Always liked him. Very intense.
  • Cowher would be the real deal for Ravens
  • the starters are still elite in secondary still, compared to most teams
  • Hell, I would take that secondary anytime. Those guys are beasts.
