Philly Sports Muse:
Brian Dawkins entered Lincoln Financial Field out of the tunnel for the final time , of course on all fours (check out an awesome GIF). His very entrance filled the stadium with so much energy that I swear I could feel it in my living room. He wasn’t playing tonight but Brian Dawkins was back with the Philadelphia Eagles, helping his team.
NBC didn’t deem the retirement of the number 20 was important enough to cease their usual halftime nonsense. So all of Eagles nation turned to PhiladelphiaEagles.com to witness the rousing ceremony.
The lights at the Linc were turned down. There was a laser show. “20″ was projected onto the field with green lights. And the compilation of just a fraction of his accomplishments–can you imagine being tasked with selecting just a few?–was awe-inspiring. Could it be real? Did we really have the privilege of seeing this powerful player and leader play defense on the Eagles?
It was enough to make your hair stand on end.

Brian Dawkins Honored To Have His Jersey Retired -
Brian Dawkins has no idea how he’ll react Sunday, when he watches his No. 20 jersey formally retired before the Eagles-Giants game at Lincoln Financial Field. “I’ve thought about it, and I just don’t know,” he said. “Will I kick into game mode or will I be a mushy tear machine? I don’t know. All I know is it’s an...
All indications seem to be that veteran center Dan Koppen will start against his former team, the New England Patriots, on Sunday. Koppen jumped in the lineup last week when starter J.D. Walton suffered an ankle injury against the Raiders; the Broncos placed Walton on injured reserve the next day, clearing the way for Koppen to get his first start of the season.
Koppen (6-2, 300...

Tomorrow night will be an emotional night at Lincoln Financial Field. Brian Dawkins, one of the greatest Eagles ever to don the green, will be honored with something that is reserved for only the most special players – he will have his jersey, #20, retired forever. This Sunday, Peyton Manning returns to Gillette Stadium. It's a place that hasn't been kind to him, against a team that's been even less kind. In Manning's resume of greatness, he could have the wins, the completion records, the touchdown throws. But the Patriots would take the big wins, the titles -- and his heart. Gillette was the home of Ty Law, whose telepathy...
