According to ESPN’s 1500 Twin Cities, there’s at least a chance that the Vikings could consider signing an inside linebacker such as Brian Urlacher in coming weeks. Minnesota was reported to have touched base with Urlacher and his representation early on in free agency, but there’s been almost no movement regarding the future Hall of Famer. Many expected the Vikings to target a linebacker at some point early on in the draft. If you had told me that they were going to walk away with three first-round picks, I would have easily put money on them taking Manti Te’o in round one, but that obviously wasn’t the case. Instead, the Vikings waited until the fourth and seventh-rounds of the draft to grab grabbed Penn State LBs Gerald Hodges and Michael Mauti. Jasper Brinkley is now on the Cardinals and, as of now, the Vikings starting linebackers would be Audie Cole, Erin Henderson, and Chad Greenway. Urlacher, 34, could be had for limited money and no more than a two-year deal. He fits their defense and is more than familiar with the NFC North, which should be a marketable quality. We have Urlacher listed as the No. 15 player in our Best Available Free Agents list. The post Brian Urlacher Now An Option For The Vikings? appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.
