It would be hard to see Brian Urlacher in another uniform other than the Chicago Bears. However, the All-Pro linebacker isn’t sure if Chicago will resign him. If not, Urlacher says he would be sad, but not crushed.
“I do not think that’s going to happen,” Urlacher told FOX 32 News in Chicago. “But, if it does, I have had a really good and long career so I would be sad, but I would not be crushed.”
A sound like Urlacher is ready to move on, anytime an athlete states they are ready to move on, it’s not good news.
Ulacher, who will be 35, is realistic that the Bears could look to get younger at the middle linebacker position. Urlacher suffered a hamstring injury that is estimated to keep him out for 3 weeks. Given the recent surge by the Green Bay Packers and the recent struggles of the Bears, it is not unrealistic that Chicago could miss the playoffs.
Urlacher has established himself as one of the NFL's most productive defensive players. After winning the NFL Rookie of the Year Award in 2000, he has been elected to eight Pro Bowls, and won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 2005.
The Chicago Bears selected Urlacher in the first round, as the draft's ninth overall pick.

Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher is being fined for the second time in two weeks for horse collar tackles. Urlacher was penalized $15,750 just a week ago for his horse collar take down of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
This time, Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune has reported that Urlacher is being fined $21,000 for taking down Seattle Seahawks RB Leon...
Last NFL season I began writing my “Jay Cutler Dominates” column. Of all my three years on MSF it’s been the column I’ve most enjoyed writing.
I like making people laugh, and one of my favorite means of doing that is through satire. Satire is a lot of fun because, if done right, you can get people to not even realize they’re being duped. I love that.
When I was writing...
The Chicago Bears' defense is finding it difficult to close out games and showing signs of some real wear and tear.
Playing without injured linebacker Brian Urlacher and with several other lineup changes, the Bears will have to find a way to turn it around Sunday against a Minnesota Vikings offense that can run opponents into the ground behind Adrian Peterson. A win would also...
Chicago Bears MLB Brian Urlacher was slapped with a $21,000 fine, his second in consecutive weeks by the NFL for a horse-collar tackle during the Bears 23-17 overtime loss to Seattle. The fine was levied after Urlacher tackled Seahawks running back Leon Washington. Last week, the league fined Urlacher $15,750 for a tackle on Minnesota’s Adrian Peterson. Urlacher plans to appeal...
Chicago's defense has caught the injury bug, the worst of which is Brian Urlacher, who could be done for the season. As a result, Jay Cutler says the offense must raise its level of play.
He's the latest in the long tradition of Chicago Bears middle linebackers. It started with Dick Butkus in the 60's and 70's. Mike Singletary continued it in the 80's and early 90's. And since the beginning of the new milennium, it's been Brian Urlacher. But with an injury to his hamstring, he could [...]
The Vikings’ respect of Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher runs deep, and they expect his absence will affect Chicago’s defense. Vikings players spoke in glowing terms of Urlacher, who won’t play Sunday.
Kelvin Hayden will get the start at cornerback in place for injured Tim Jennings when the Chicago Bears travel to Minnesota Sunday to face the Vikings. Jennings was hurt late in the Bears overtime loss to Seattle. In his place steps the veteran Hayden, who has played the nickel back role for much of the season. Hayden’s experienced in the [...]

When the Chicago Bears (8-4) and Minnesota Vikings (6-6) meet in the Metrodome on Sunday afternoon, it will be the second time in three weeks that these two teams have faced off. In the Thanksgiving weekend matchup between the two teams Chicago walked out of Soldier Field with a 28-10 victory. However, this will be a much different Bears team that faced the Vikings two weeks ago...
