J.J Watt and the Houston Texans are coming back to New England to take on the Patriots With the Houston Texans 19-13 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in Saturday afternoon’s Wild-Card Playoff match-up, the New England Patriots have their match-up set. Since the Houston Texans are the three seed in the AFC and the two teams playing tomorrow have lower seeds than the Texans, the Patriots are assured of playing the Texans in the second round. In early December, these two teams played in what was billed as the biggest game in the history of the Houston Texans. They wore fancy letter-man jackets, pumped themselves up and came into Foxboro thinking they were going to establish themselves as the team to beat in the AFC. It didn’t happen. The Patriots were up 21-0 at the end of the first quarter and what was supposed to be the Houston Texans biggest game quickly became the New England Patriots signature win of the season. At no point did that game feel close. More fun facts: The Patriots didn’t have tight-end Rob Gronkowski in the first game. Instead, the two tight-ends were Aaron Hernandez and Michael Hommanawhatshisface. They will have Gronkowski next weekend. The game is in Foxboro. The last meeting between the two teams was in Foxboro. The Patriots have only lost two playoff games at home in the Belichick/Brady era. Tom Brady > Matt Schaub. Seriously, if you watched the game today it was shocking that Schaub was voted into the Pro-Bowl in the AFC. It was such a sloppy game by both teams that it was shocking to see them in a playoff game. Then there is this: BetOnline opens New England -9 for next week.Total of 48. — Joe Fortenbaugh (@JoeFortenbaugh) January 6, 2013 So of course, take Houston in this game. Way too obvious.

Houston dispatches the Bengals 19-13, now they will try and exercise the demons against the Patriots

The Houston Texans, who struggled the last month of the season, beat the Cincinnati Bengals tonight 19-13 behind their All-Pros running back Arian Foster and defensive end J.J. Watt. The Texans, who eliminated the Bengals last season as well, were paced by four field goals by Shayne Graham of 48, 27, 22 and 24 yards and a 1 yard touchdown run by Foster, who finished with 140 yards...

Texan's Antonio Smith: "It's gotta be personal"

The Houston Texans have the Patriots right where they want them. Well, not really. They were on their way to a first round bye when they **** the bed and played their way out of the bye.Houston probably regret hyping up the week 14 matchup against the Patriots. They wore letterman jackets on the way to Gillette Stadium. The game didn't start out great for the Texans going down...

The rule that started a dynasty may be removed after this season

It was 12 years ago that the last NFL dynasty began. It was a cold and snowy night in New England, and Tom Brady appeared to have literally dropped the ball on the Patriots magical season. Charles Woodson had just come from the edge and knocked the ball out of Brady’s grasp after he pulled back a pass attempt and the Raiders recovered the ball with and prepared to run the clock...

Original Patriot Jack Davis dies at 80

Former Patriots offensive guard Jack Davis has died at the age of 80. Davis, an original member of the team when it was formed in 1960 as the Boston Patriots of the American Football League, died on Jan. 1 in Palm Harbor, Fla., the club announced Friday. He played one pro season, appearing in 14 games for the Patriots. The name of the team was changed to the New England Patriots...

Key Patriots prepare for first postseason

The New England Patriots are gearing up for what will hopefully be another deep playoff run. This team has always been viewed as the crew that's been there before. However, breakout players including Aqib Talib, Alfonzo Dennard, Dont'a Hightower, and Chandler Jones are new to the most important part of the NFL season. Now, the question is whether this inexperience will have...

Belichick expects changes from Pats rout of Texans

A regular-season rout can be a poor predictor of the postseason rematch. Coach Bill Belichick can remind his New England Patriots of that less than a month after their 42-14 romp that shoved the Houston Texans into their late-season plunge. The stakes will be much higher when the Texans return Sunday to Gillette Stadium. The winner in the divisional-round game goes to the AFC championship...

Do the Bengals or Texans have the stronger team? Comparing wildcard teams by position.

Do the Bengals or Texans have the stronger team? Comparing wildcard teams by position. AFC Wild Card Game - #6 Bengals at #3 Texans QB - Matt Schaub over Andy Dalton - I really should be going with Dalton here but I'm going to stick with Schaub. RB - Foster over BGE - This is obvious. WR - Johnson over Green -  This is probably the last year Johnson would...
