The hope for Brodney Pool going into the season was that his run stopping and coverage skills would be a big help to the Jets, and allow the team to better utilize the safety position in the scheme that Ryan wanted to implement.
Halfway through the season, it was looking like the Pool acquisition wasn’t paying the expected dividends, which was concerning … and even before Jim Leonhard was injured, the Jets thoughts on Brodney Pool seemed pretty evident when they played Eric Smith ahead of him to start the Bengals game.
Now without solid proven coverage skills at the safety position, the Jets are really in a pickle. Brodney Pool has struggled in picking up the Jets defense … but what is it in particular that’s been stumping him?
