The Denver Broncos are back in the business of picking up one-time single-digit draft picks who play on the defensive line. According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, the Broncos have acquired defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, the fourth overall pick in the 2003 draft, from the New York Jets. In return, the Jets will receive a late-round conditional draft pick in 2009. The Jets really had no choice but to take what they could get. With a $3 million roster bonus due in June, the Jets were going to cut Robertson if they weren't able to trade him. The next question is whether the Broncos have already restructured Robertson's contract. It could be that they've yet to do so, and that one of the conditions is that the Broncos must sign him to a new deal or the Jets get nothing.
