The Denver Broncos have signed free agent cornerback Quentin Jammer after striking out in their pursuit of safety Charles Woodson. A physical and durable 12th-year pro, Jammer is the third longtime San Diego Chargers player to bolt for their AFC rivals this offseason, joining linebacker Shaun Phillips and right guard Louis Vasquez. Jammer spent his first 11 seasons in San Diego, where he had 21 interceptions and 130 pass breakups. He was the fifth-overall draft pick in 2002 out of Texas, where he played safety. Since becoming a starter in 2003, he's missed just three starts, opening 157 games, most by a cornerback in the NFL during that span. Jammer had a pick-6 against Peyton Manning in Week 6 last season. Woodson signed with Oakland last week.

Quentin Jammer believes he can transition to safety

Quentin Jammer told that he signed with the Broncos to try and win a championship before his career ends. “Obviously I had spent so much time in San Diego, to uproot and leave and go somewhere and uproot your family, it’s hard. It’s a difficult thing to do,” he said. “But when you’re forced to, you have decisions to make. The next decision that you have...

Peyton Manning has been busy this offseason

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has been very busy this offseason and the good news is that it doesn’t involve rehabbing an injury like he did last year. Yahoo! Sports’ Shutdown Corner has a list of everything Manning has done. • Played Augusta National, home of The Masters, and shot a 77. • Threw passes inside a military plane 30,000 feet above Pakistan. • Stood...

Willis McGahee still missing at the Broncos OTA’s

According to Lindsey Jones of USA TODAY Sports, running back Willis McGahee has decided to once again skip the Broncos organized team activities. Willis McGahee still a no-show at Broncos voluntary OTAs. — Lindsay Jones (@bylindsayhjones) May 30, 2013 While rookie Montee Ball is getting plenty of work, I would be surprised if the Broncos don’t release McGahee before the regular...

Peyton Manning feels his neck is getting better: ‘it’s a heck of a lot more comfortable than I was last year’

Last year at this time, Peyton Manning wasn’t sure how his season would go; enduring another surgery to his neck he hoped he could survive. A year later Manning is eyeing bigger goals than just surviving, he trying to win another championship. According to Sam Farmer of the LATimes, Manning is in a different frame of mind this time around. “The biggest issue for me was...

Report: Peyton Manning Has ‘More Zip’ on Passes, Has ‘Come Back Stronger’ in Spring Workouts

The main question when Peyton Manning signed with the Broncos and resumed football in 2012 was whether he’d ever be back to his old self. While that question may not be completely answered anytime soon, the evidence is strong that Manning is headed in that direction. Wide receiver Eric Decker practiced with Manning earlier this offseason and is now catching passes from him at organized...

Dwight Freeney smelled a rat during free agency

DE Dwight Freeney waded for a long time in free agency waters before landing with the San Diego Chargers after the draft, and he feels owners had something to do with that. Freeney made the visits, and made his demands of what he thought he was worth, but teams weren't willing to pay him to his liking. He thinks owners got together at the start of free agency and made a committment...

Chargers’ Le’Ron McClain: “Sky’s the Limit” for Manti Te’o

Things have been quiet on the Manti Te’o front ever since he got drafted by the San Diego Chargers and perhaps rightfully so, as many thought a key for him would be to just come in and work hard to earn the respect of his teammates. It looks like Manti has done just that, as one of his teammates has decided to speak out about the rookie linebacker and surprisingly praise...
