Last year, HBO's popular "Hard Knocks" show was one of many casualties of the NFL lockout. The show wasn't killed forever by the lack of an offseason in 2011, and HBO is looking for a team to follow. According to Adam Schein of Fox Sports, the Denver Broncos was the first choice by HBO. When contacted about possibly being part of the show, Schein says HBO was "flat out denied." That piece of the report should surprise no one as Peyton Manning usually likes to keep things close to the chest, and the Broncos as a whole have no reason to add any unneeded distractions to their offseason. They have the potential to be a great team in 2012 with Manning at the helm, and they know it. After being shot down by the Broncos, HBO reached out to the New York Jets about featuring the Jets once again. According to Schein's report, Woody Johnson, the Jets owner, is all in favor of doing the show. Johnson can be compared to the attention seeking co-worker that nev...

Thomas: “I’m waiting for my hand to heal”

When healthy, Thomas has made some of the best cornerbacks in the NFL look silly. (Photo by Justin Edmonds/Getty Images) Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (6-3, 235 lbs.) had surgery on a finger roughly two weeks ago, which is why he hasn’t been playing catch with Eric Decker and Peyton Manning in Denver.  In an interview with alibi.com‘s Adam Fox last week, Thomas said he...

Demaryius Thomas had surgery on pinky finger

(AP Photo/Ed Andrieski) There is a reason why third-year wide receiver Demaryius Thomas hasn’t been running routes with fellow receiver Eric Decker for quarterback Peyton Manning in Denver — he recently had surgery on his pinky finger which he fractured last September to remove a pin, according to CBS4‘s Vic Lombardi and Thomas, himself...

Manning calls Phil B.

By now you've surely heard the news that Peyton Manning called Indianapolis Star writer/blogger/ultra good guy Phillip B. Wilson. Some call it a public relations move, as Phil addresses, while I liken it to the handwritten letters the former Colt quarterback is known to send to those he respects. Like Phil, I don't care who believes this is a PR attempt. In the end, Manning...

Report: Rex Ryan Doesn't Want Jets on 'Hard Knocks,' But Owner Woody Johnson Does

The Jets were made for HBO's Hard Knocks, and that was before they went and traded for Tim Tebow. It only makes sense that they would return for what would be their second season on the show this summer, but they won't be on again if head coach Rex Ryan has his way. Because of that supposed fact, the Jets apparently have some disagreement within their organization. According...
