Denver doesn't have the number twenty-two jersey assaigned to anyone as of Tuesday afternoon. (Photo by Jared Wickerham/Getty Images) There will be a lot of these types of posts, especially over the course of the rest of the week. Sorry I am not sorry; it is time for actual football news and let me be amongst the first to welcome you to NFL Free Agency 2013. First, a rumor from early yesterday, in a tweet sent by Omar Kelly of the (see how they don’t capitalize the ‘the’, unless it is at the beginning of the sentence?) South Florida Sun-Sentinel; a plugged in full time NFL beat writer who focuses on the Miami Dolphins — specifically via the Miami Dolphins Blog. Kelly states that your Denver Broncos are the favorites to land the highly coveted free agent running back Reggie Bush, Kelly also included that the Arizona Cardinals (who are apparently jettisoning two of their running backs from 2012) and the Detroit Lions, who have been linked to Bush since it became apparent that Miami would allow him to walk, are also in the conversation: Reggie Bush is competing with a few free agent tailbacks. But he’ll pick between Denver, Arizona and Detroit. I hear Denver is the leader. — Omar Kelly (@OmarKelly) March 11, 2013 Mike Klis of the unofficial Denver Broncos PR team (the Denver Post) fired back: @omarkelly >Broncos putting out word they are not interested in Reggie Bush — Mike Klis (@MikeKlis) March 11, 2013 Of course the Broncos are putting out that word. If they were actually not interested in Bush wouldn’t it behoove the team to feign interest in Bush in order to drive up his price and waste the time of teams who may be in competition for other running backs that Denver is actually interested in? I hear that they may be interested in Rashard Mendenhall for his apparent willingness to be a team player and split time in the backfield. Heck, if the Broncos are looking for running backs who are coming off of career altering surgeries why hasn’t anyone connected the dots to Ahmad Bradshaw yet? Man, would I love to see Bradshaw in a Denver uniform… But wait, there is more! So, as an officially unaffiliated site of the Denver Broncos, I will go ahead and state the Bush is in fact Denver’s to lose. He will be a Bronco soon, barring some type of disagreement on money terms. Heck, longtime offensive coordinator of the Peyton Manning offense in Indianapolis and current offensive coordinator for the Cardinals (Tom Moore) is. Why wouldn’t the current offensive coordinator of the Peyton Manning offense be? Bush just makes too much sense in the Broncos quest to become harder, better, faster, stronger (and no that wasn’t a Girls reference, it was a Daft Punk reference, via Kanye West, via Kim Kardashian) — he is what Denver hoped that Ronnie Hillman would become when the team drafted him in 2012. The former second overall draft pick has lived up to that status at several points in his career only to be set back by injury or a packed backfield. Coupled with the already dangerous Manning offense and Bush out of the backfield — the Broncos offense would be outright deadly. What do you think my friends? My main concern is hitting, ‘Publish’ on this fast enough for me to say, ‘I told you so,’ just kidding, I would never say that...
