According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson via ProFootballTalk.com, Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has been limited to only a handful of deep throws during practice.

“Manning has looked better than most people believed he would so far,” Anderson reported on Sportscenter. ”But here is a little bit of context: Yes, he’s looked good at the line of scrimmage. His balls have had zip. And the majority of them have been caught. But most of those balls have been short and intermediate, with only a handful of them long.”

Since the Broncos are keeping tabs on how many throws Manning makes during camp, it makes sense to not have him over stress his arm with throwing a lot of deep balls.
